Description I tried to keep this as politically correct as possible, so please try not to take offense if I have made any mistakes.

This was a request by a fellow deviant who doesn't like seeing stereotypes applied to different sexualities. (This isn't entirely meant to be a "pride" stamp, but you are free to use it that way, of course). It was originally only going to cover gay and straight, but I decided to expand on it a little to include some of the other more commonly-seen sexualities (I hope the deviant who requested this stamp won't mind). I know I didn't include everything, and if you're in a group not mentioned here, I'm sorry - this stamp is already very long as it is and I didn't want to make it too huge.

Anyway, if you want people to know that you will not stereotype them on the basis of sexual orientation, then please feel free to use this stamp.

On a side note - no bashing other groups here. That's not what this is about. Negative comments towards any sexuality community (gay, straight, bi, ace, whatever) will be flagged as spam.

I'm glad you included asexuality in this stamp~ Because people really need to acknowledge that we do actually exist. And that we're not just lonely and "need a good lay" or whatever.

Thank you. Yes, I know the feeling. I'm an ace myself, and I can't tell you the number of times people tell me I'm "lonely" or I "just haven't found the right person yet" or whatever. Glad you like the stamp

You're welcome! I hate when people say things like that... I just want to scream "NO" at people who say those things. What's even worse for me is my parents, doctors, and damn near everyone tells me I'll change my mind about having sex/kids, and I just want to punch them... Uggghhhhhh.

My mom doesn't know I'm asexual, but I've told my dad about it. It took him a while to get it (still telling me I'd change my mind, I'd meet the right person, etc.), but I think he finally understands what it means for me.

Neither of my parents know. They'll both act like its "just a phase" or something...

I think my dad understands it pretty well. I'm lucky there - I know most people in my situation don't have that.

Oddly enough, I'm asexual and Pan. It is a strange life for me. Thankfully, I know another person who is the same way. But people always ask how I can survive without sex. Well, I'm alive aren't I?

So you're a panromantic asexual then? I think I can understand that. Yep, I get a lot of the same comments, too.

RainbowHarvey In reply to HarmonicSonic [2011-02-16 20:49:49 +0000 UTC]

yeah. I have no preference at all. I mean, it is like my brain sees no difference in gender, but I also don't have much of a sexual desire. It is basically nonexistant in me.

It took me a long time to understand pansexuality and panromanticism, until someone explained that, in simplest terms, pans are "gender-blind". (Not trying to be offensive with that statement - I actually find it to be a very good way of explaining it).

RainbowHarvey In reply to HarmonicSonic [2011-02-16 22:26:24 +0000 UTC]

Yes, actually that is a good way of explaining. Most people confuse it for bisexual. It is definitely not. Bisexuals have a preference, but do not mind going the other way. I was surprised when I fell for a girl. And it is cute because we show affection through poetry, rather than physical love, since we are both asexual as well. We have that spark, but we never get that need for physical love.

HarmonicSonic In reply to RainbowHarvey [2011-02-16 23:05:36 +0000 UTC]

See - I take it further even than that. I'm an aromantic asexual, so I really never even feel a spark. I make friends with people, but I never feel any sort of romantic attraction to anyone.

No prob. people need to know we exist, and they need to respect us.

"No prob. people need to know we exist, and they need to respect us."

Just because you're pan doesn't entitle you to respect.

It's because you are human that you deserve respect. Sexuality is rather (or should be) insignificant in anything other than what pertains to an individuals sex life.

All I meant in what I said was that I do not want people to just disrespect or respect me based on what I am.

Honestly, it's nothing against you. I haven't slept correctly in a week because my best friend was just murdered by his father for being gay. So I am extremely upset about things like that lately, very sensitive about the whole issue, and am having difficulty creating the verbal words I need in order to express any point I try to make.
