incredibly close up
cool

I'm with you on that (angry) point. LOL, we definitely do need a "Macro" gallery for all those images that just don't seem to have a home.

this is awesome. when you shot in raw, what do you use to convert them? and since you seem to know lenses, what would you recommend for a nikon, for macro pics? i love extreme macro and i just cant do it with my regular 55mm lens. i could accomplish more with compact cameras. but im sorta new to dslr's and i just dont know lenses.

Hi there, thank you for the comments. I use Photoshop CS2 and Lightroom at the moment for the post processing . A friend of mine shoots Nikon and he loves his Sigma 150mm macro lens. I have seen some shots with it and it is impressive. This is the only other lens I can comment on and feel comfortable about doing so. I shoot with the Canon 100mm macro and love it. Hope some of this helps? Thanks again, Hatch

This is amazing - you have got such detail - you can even see the texture of the graphite - brilliant work - it should definitely go into a special macro section

I hate when the graphite breaks right after sharpening it, though. lol.

that is nice since now I've bee using only Sigma 70-300 macro with reversed Ricoh 50/2 - but I think the quality is not so good. And even magnification is a bit lower :/ I think I have to buy real macro...
BTW - try to put your 50/1.4 reversed to this macro set - you will see how GIANT magnification you get - you'll be able to se cells and microorganismes...

Wow man, just wow.

You know i've seen photos that are detailed and in focus with depth, but nothing like this. This is almost unreal. It's so crisp and dials right to the point, to where you can almost feel that granite/lead crushed against the paper.

Pure Excellence at it's best. Keep it up.

This is quite possibly the best picture I've ever seen taken. The length of detail you were able to hold is amazing. The grain in the wood looks like sand almost, I love it.
