Description
Here is the updated construction rendering of the 3D printed action figure. It can now move the head up and down as well as to the sides. The abs can move right and left now in addition to being able to tilt to the side. The feet can also tilt to the sides now allowing for some nicer poses. The new joints bring the total points of articulation to 34.I did not do any sanding on the joints this time. Therefore this figure has much tighter joints. It can even balance on one leg. The weapons can be stored on the back as with the previous figure. It comes with two exchangeable heads. One with a helmet and one bare headed.

Unfortunately there is no such thing as a regular price since most customers want commissions based on their designs and have indivdual wishes that need to be taken into account. They usually send me their specific requests via email and get an individual quote from me. I have some prices for my personal figures in case people would like to order them here, if that is what you mean: www.hauke-scheer.de/shop.html

Can you include the scale of your figurine? is it 3 inches?

That one is about 6.5 inches high.

Wonderful work! I've been thinking in doing something like these myself, and I have to say you did a magnificent job. That figure looks really well. This might be a silly question, but I have to ask: do you print it all at once or piece by piece and then assemble them? Because, in the picture on the left, that looks like a lot of little pieces. Maybe I'm missing something?

Thank you! Yes the parts are printed separately and then assembled. This one had quite a lot of pieces but the newer ones are all right. Most of it is just pins now which are easy to put into the body parts.

Sounds cool I was thinking if there might be a way to design a full poseable model but print it all assembled already. Can it be done (I mean, can the printer handle it) or it needs to be in pieces? I was thinking that some pieces might end up floating in the air, but I have not expierence in these things :/

It may be possible but then you would have to leave a lot of room between the joints to allow support material to be removed effectively. So the figure may end up very loose.

Oh, just saw on your page that you already use Zbrush. Cool stuff.

Thanks! There are 3D programs like Zbrush that come pretty close to traditional sculpting if you ever want to try working in 3D.

Wow, a mojo is some cool printer to have at home.
Do you think I could print this on my sad old makerbot?
Cool design BTW!

Unfortunately I have never used a makerbot so I have no idea.

I may put them on shapweways at some point in the future but they would be really expensive because the material cost for 3D printed objects is still very high.

that is awesome work! I wish I had a blank articulating figure so I could just replace the parts as they are modeled. Nice cutaway btw
