Grabbed myself some issue ACUs (not replica shit) at the War & Peace Show last Saturday. They're suprisingly hard to get (all you guys issued them will laugh now
), so they command quite a price. These were really quite reasonable, and are real ones (IRR tabs, anti-wrinkle treatment, etc all present).No, it really doesn't work in any environment that's even vaguely green.

I've actually seen it work fairly well in green environments, especially when in the shades and in concealment.

strangely that reminds me of the subway the other day:
There were a bunch of cops standing around and these two soldiers walked in...One of the cops turned around to see a soldier walking by and I heard him say "SH**! An ACU"

lol, i gots me a pair to, just something new for a uniform collection, im weird like that. i think they're cool, but just thank god i wont be in a combat situation in them anytime soon. that, for a U.S. soldier, fighting in war...

Damn straight. The uniform's cut and design is very functional, and the pattern looks plain COOL...but that's not the point. It doesn't function for shit outside of urban settings. It was a bad move on the Army's part, methinks.

Some people spend that much money on mountain biking, or cars, or DIY. I spend it on airsoft.
I have MASSIVE respect for all men and women currently enlisted. Words really can't describe how much respect I have.
However, I do not wish to join the military myself. I just don't want to. I have other things planned for my life, and I know what I want to do with myself later on. The military isn't involved in that, for better or worse.

Mine doesn't either, the coyote brown is too brown to go with ACU really, but meh.

Dang, must be heavy to move around with all that gear.
Was at the Army Surplus shop some days, ago. Trying to get myself some nice gear, sadly they wanted 7.000 for a M/90 helmet and 1.000 for a tactical vest.
Guess I have to stick with the WWII stuff

LMAO Hard to get? Man... I got like 10 pairs right now... 4 still in the little issue case with tabs attached..... they tear easily so be careful.... and I'm not sure you'll have this problem... but battery acid will melt them. It never seemed to bother BDUs or DCUs... but ACUs melt quick. LOL I see you've snagged some Oakley tan gloves. Very smexah

The ACUs are PHENOMINALLY hard to get here. eBay is full of used pairs, and non-issue ones, but you wouldn't believe the trouble I had finding these without being serving. Evidentally the US Army doesn't like their new uniform/pattern being leaked to the public

You actually bought, as in willingly shelled out your precious money, for a set of ACUs? Jesus. It's the primary reason that I'd dodge any chance to enter the US Army. Camouflage, my ass!

For urban it's not bad. Friggin' great design of uniform, too. Too bad the pattern sucks the big one.
But like I say, in urban it's fine. I have US Woodland for woodland work.

I do love the cut of the uniform. I just wish more companies would make the ACU in different patterns, instead of $100 custom RAID-modded BDU pants and jackets.
And don't get me wrong, the first time I saw a set of ACUs in UDCP, I nearly creamed my jeans. Then I realized that there was nowhere near enough green in it to be useful for me.

Tru spec makes ACU cut uniforms in woodland and coffee stain desert, and they cost about he same as an ACU. I got one in OD Green for my CERT work.
