I got bored of painting and using color. So I decided to just use black and white.Uh, yeah. More comicky than what I usually do I suppose. I don't know why Ethan is so angry looking in this image, but eh, maybe it's his focused face. Or maybe he's been hanging around Gavin too much.
I have so much free time now that its summer that I don't know what to do with it. Guess I'll keep drawing then

What! Dude, he's only one of the greatest mangakas ever! He made Jojo's bizarre adventure. It's quite a long series so of course he forgets some of his own lore now and again. Then the fans come out and say "Araki forgot" xD

This is cool - it is neat how objects like the staff, logo on his chest and other details stand out. It is a very powerful stance, you can sense the intimidating effect. And his one eye being in shadow makes it more threatening! Reminds me of Thor!

Thanks! Sometimes it's nice to do something simple once in a while, so that's how this piece came about. I tried to focus on the shapes instead of the content if that makes sense. But yeah, I wanted to make him intimidating too!
Honestly, Thor would trash Ethan in a fight lol, he's nowhere near as powerful as a god.

I think the shapes comment makes sense, like the symbols on his chest and the staff. Somehow black and white has its own powerful effect of depicting details. Haha, I think Thor may still make Ethan a junior member of the Avengers supporting cast

it has a vector feel to it, i think you should experiment on vector arts as well, i use to draw vector before like last two years ago and it was fun!.

I've actually done some vector art in the past, when I was taking graphic design in high school. It was interesting to say the least. But yeah, I think I'll pick it up again! For animation especially, vector art is better than rasterized because you can resize it without any quality decrease.

Thanks pal! And yeah, Ethan's a mage but more of the arcane warrior type. Me personally, I find it more interesting than the usual mage archetype since it subverts expectations a little bit. Trying to think outside the box hereΒ Β
