Description
Like father, like son. I drew a cursed image yesterday, so here's a more blessed one to heal your eyes.Gavin does his best to live up to his father's legacy. He doesn't know this, but his father often watches over him from the afterlife.
I asked yesterday whether or not I should use color for this one, got one positive and one negative. I decided to split the difference and use triadic colors. So yeah, blue, red and yellow. The blue's kinda pale so you can't really see it, but it's there. I'm getting more comfortable with inking ever since I did those comics for my summer class. What do you guys think, too much or too little?
I didn't know what to put in the background, so ripperonni on that. Hopefully the foreshortening made up for it. Oh yeah, what do you think about the dragon scales? Should I use another texture? Let me know what you think.

Thanks! I really like the contrast that red and black make, it's one of my favorite color combinations. And yeah, capes are so fun to draw!

The dragon scales are really good. The blood is realistic too, but I can't stand the sight of too much blood (runs out of room for a few minutes and comes back with sunglasses on). Nice foreshortening on both characters. And I really enjoy the theme of his dad watching over him as an angel. It is very touching and encouraging.

Thanks! Haha, I used to be the same way with bloody scenes. I actually still can't really stand the more realistic kind of violence, but if it's more animated then it doesn't bother me. And yeah, that's what I was going for!

Ooh yeah! Keep the dragon heads rolling!!!
This was nicely done! Love the few colors, although I couldn't find the blue one... Aah, the sword! There it is!
Nice job on the foreshortening here and good use of blacks, it makes the picture pop.
The scales look inverted though... Imagine you're a snake slithering through a thistle, if you have inverted scales, the thorns will definitely get caught between your scales and you can't get through.
I'm not a dragon expert and I've never drawn a dragon before but I have few suggestions: One, leave the head scale free and start drawing scales on the neck. Second, draw scales on the head but make it larger and more round shaped, like armor.

Thanks for the comment and advice! I know nothing about drawing animals, lol. I never even thought about the scale thing! Thanks, I'll be sure to do that next time. Your stuff is so easy to understand, maybe you should do a tutorial series!
