Description
I have finals this week but I can't get myself to work on them... so I painted this. I've had this idea in my head for a few months but never got around to doing it. Now's the time, I suppose. Procrastination gang gang. Also haven't drawn Ethan in a while, so why not? Painting the water was also a nice challenge. I don't think I got it quite right, but that's why you practice. Ugh... think I'll just play vidya for the rest of the day. I don't even want to think about animating... Anyway, in this picture, it's Ethan showing Joe how to meditate. Of course, the best place to do that is under a waterfall.

Ethan: How are you faring, Maverick? Not too taxing, right?
Joe: Not at all. So, now what?
Ethan: Now, you empty your mind. Close your eyes, and let all your worries and thoughts disappear. Try to focus on what’s happening around you, instead of what’s going on inside of you.
Joe: All right, sounds easy enough...
Joe: *Hmm… I thought this would be a bunch of psychic mumbo-jumbo, but it’s actually quite nice. I don't even feel cold anymore, though I’m not sure if it’s because I’m being enlightened, or if I’m getting frostbite. Wonder how Ethan’s doing…*
Ethan: …
Joe: *He looks really focused. I guess he’s a lot more experienced at this than I am.*
Ethan: No peeking.
Joe: …?! *How did he know?!*
Ethan: Don’t be so shocked. The power of meditation enables the body to do many extraordinary things, Maverick. Don’t let your mind be led astray so easily.
Joe: *Huh… this is one of the few times that I’ve been reminded that Ethan’s older than I am. I guess his chaotic past has given him a strong sense of wisdom.*
