Description
I'm about 50% done with my animation, so I decided to paint something. Now that I've gotten a taste of drawing mechs, I've decided to go all in on it. I've always really liked how they look, but I was really intimidated to draw some because they look really detailed. I didn't even know where to start! But they're really not so bad. Once you know how to do forms (sphere, cube, etc) you can do it. I've already gotten pretty good at drawing people, so there's no sense in practicing it all the time when there's other skills I can level up. In all honesty, I think regular anatomy is a little harder to get right. On armor and stuff the ribcage and pelvis are usually defined separately, while on a person it's hidden. So yeah.I decided to start with something easier and work my way up to the more detailed ones, so I drew Zero from the Megaman series. I haven't played any of the games, but I've always thought his design was really cool. Simple but efficient, that's how I like it. I think I have to work on rendering metal a little more, but that's why I'm practicing it. Next... I'm thinking of doing Getter 2. All attack is the best defense! I also figured out a way to stress my hand less, all I had to do was lower the angle of my tablet. Good stuff.

Thanks man! Wait, he does? I don't know much about the Megaman series, so yeah. What's it look like?

Uh...different. Search up Megaman Zero. It'sĀ set really far in the future after the Megaman X series. Good stuff but the games are relentlessly tough in some parts.

Oh yeah, I've seen that before! I think it's on the 3ds if I'm not mistaken. I'm definitely planning on chilling after I finish my project, so I might look I to it some more. Yeah, I've heard of the difficulty of the Megaman series... my older bro's a really big fan of it, and I think he's beaten every game so far. He was raging quite a lot, especially on the Quickman level lol. I've been meaning to get into the series for quite some time, so this is a good opportunity!

He's raging at quickman? Oh boy is he in for a ride when he hits the Zero series.

Thank you! I tried to imagine each part separately, so that I could get the lighting just right. Rim lighting is also a big component for doing metal!

Woah, thanks! Yep, it feels like I've been improving my painting skills lately. I'll keep at it! Doing metal is definitely something I'm going to practice for now.
