Yeah, there was so much potential lost with Fiona.

Sad thing is, they wasted a lot of her potential while she was still there. The whole "Fiona goes bad" story arc was so... brief, and seemed to happen just because Sally got pissy at her at Sonic's birthday.
It'd have been nice if there was more build-up where circumstance, the Freedom Fighters starting to unintentionally alienate her, and Scourge's manipulations played on her insecurities. I think the outcome would have been so much more powerful if there was a little bit of blame to be shared between al parties involved. Ultimately, yes, Fiona is responsible for her own actions, of course. Not trying to shift blame here. A big point could have been made that Fiona could have just left if she was really starting to feel unwelcome and not betrayed them, but chose to do so out of spite. I've just always felt that the whole "Fiona was always secretly evil" thing was just too simple and easy, and an over-simplification of Fiona's psyche.
After all, nobody thinks they're the bad guy. Their actions are justified in their own views, even if they're actually not.

I think Scourge's manipulations played a part in Fiona's change and now Fiona ended up being in a form of limbo due to the lawsuit that caused a form of holocaust to over 400 characters.

Afraid so. Even though she's not a character by Penders, she is very much caught in the middle by this lawsuit mess. Caught in such a way thay her days in the comics may well be over.
