Description
There's a saying that goes: "It's better to have loved and lost than to never have loved at all." But in Tails' situation, he had to go through this heartbreaking experience twice. One broke his heart in such a way that she almost drove a wedge between his friendship with Sonic. The other had to sacrifice herself in order to destroy an enemy that was threatening the universe.Tails doesn't know it at the time but sometime in the future, one of them is returning. No matter which one it is, it will be a surprising shock for our high-flying kitsune.

I did. Wasn't that bad, but I didn't really like it compared to Sonic X (which was my first major experience in Sonic franchise).

I see. My first major experience was the games around 2004/2005 and season 1 of Sonic X.
The thing with SatAM is that I liked some of the themes and the storytelling. And I really liked Mobius. But I was never that fond of the characters in it and I hated how they potrayed Tails in it.

They never needed an explanation. In games they're just a gimmick. And in Sonic X it was almost obvious that they're made with the power of the Chaos Emeralds.

Besides, in Sonic X he could access their power anytime. In SatAM he could only have one per 24 hours. This is stupid.

That's the writers for you. Fortunately some fan fiction does something about it. In my case, one saw the errors of her ways and the other was reincarnated.

Too bad it's not official. Though I don't know much about the first case (don't even know where that fox girl's from), they surely overdid it in Sonic X.

Fiona was the first crush of Tails but there were issues such as a five years difference in age and that she fell for an evil version of Sonic named Scourge. This was in the comic books. Now because of a lawsuit, Fiona may be erased from the picture completely.
In the case of Cosmo in Sonic X, she volunteered to sacrifice herself. It was especially hard for Tails, because had to pull the trigger to make that happen. But there was a ray of hope with one of Cosmo's seed being planted and sprouted in Tails' workshop.

I see. God damn it, why the character that had to suffer that much is the one that doesn't deserve it in any way??? You know what? I wouldn't be surprised if Sonic avoided any realtionships just because he could predict something like this! (yeah, I know it isn't exactly this way, but I wouldn't be surprised if it was.)

You still have fans who are fighting on whether Sonic should be with Sally or Amy, which has become quite a civil war. It also brought out fan art that has the two at each other's throats but there was never a confrontation in the comic books. That prompts me to do this pic and it became my most faved pic.

Yeah, I heard of that "civil war", but I stay out of this. I can't see Sonic with Amy in any ways (at least the way she is now). As for Sally... Well, she is officially Sonic's girlfriend in the comics. I usually stay out of non-game content, so I just don't pay attention. In short, I don't support either.

The fandom seem to create the hate but the characters never show any malice to each other. instead of blaming the characters, they should look at the writers who create the stories.

Actually, Cosmo ended up breaking his heart and driving a wedge between his friendship with Sonic too. But at least Cosmo did the right thing unlike Fiona.

Tails was heartbroken for two different reasons. I don't know about Cosmo driving a wedge between Tails and Sonic but I know Tails cares enough about Cosmo to defend her against Shadow despite Shadow's reasons.

She sacrificed herself because:
1) She finally could contribute with something
2) Sonic COULD die being shoot on the graviation field from the canon
3) They didn't know if that shoot would be enough to save the universe.
The tragedy is, in the end, it appeared that the Universe would be saved without her sacrifice. But Sonic COULD have (but nothing says he would have) died. So did Tails kill her for anything at all? We don't know. But if her sacrificed did anything at all, it only saved Sonic. On the other hand... Without Sonic Eggman or a new threat would probably win in the long run and end up kill Tails, Amy and Cream anyway. So Cosmo could have saved them all after all.

Exactly. Her sacrifice is a TRAGEDY. Forever will it haunt Tails "Was it really that neccasary to Kill her to begin with?". Forever will it haunt Sonic that his bestfriends girlfriend died for him.
The seed has been talked about to death. So I don't really feel like talking about that and I don't share your belief in it anyway ^^
