It seems to have a slightly desaturated look which helps the overall "solemn" tone of the image.

... it's pictures like these that makes me keep typing... multiple number of times!

... firstly, I really wish I could learn some REAL photography from you, I mean - look at this picture, it (in no way) looks like a snapshot, it looks more like a properly managed studio where you actually set up all the props, lights, booms and you personally set up the color combination and clicked the picture (one of these days, I should really come up with a synonym for "WOW")

... secondly, I need to find other photographer (any other, not only from dA, but from the entire world) to compare your work, and sadly, I've come across none... people tend to focus more on human subjects, I check the daily deviations everyday to see whether people actually take architectural photographs that meet your standards... but lo! there are none! (Sven, you know this is a fact, not flattery)...

thirdly, the admiration - like I mentioned above, this doesn't seem to be a natural photograph, the light vs. shadow and the shadow vs. the imagery is just TOO AWESOME... I used to contemplate it's just my screen (not adjusted according to the color), but I saved the picture and checked it in Mac as well, but no! it looks awesome even in CMYK adjusted screen... it makes me really wish to see this picture in a gallery...

awesome! just awesome!

finally, that 'little' small hindrance... you could consider either hiding (whole of it) the beam showing at the top left of the picture or you could consider showing even on the right side... the beam is giving a 'doorway' kind of feel, so how about either showing on the right (top) as well... or cropping it entirely?

Oh come on There are hundreds of photographers on this site alone that produce stunning photos. Thanks a bunch for the complement though

... I sure hope to come across one - who takes subjects like you... forget 'stunners'... I just need the subjects like you take...
