Sweet!
My first and most important tip is to stay away from mineral coal (or whatever you call it, the stuff that is mined from the ground)
Always use charcoal. It is less harmful to your lungs and burns a lot better too

oh and another "don't"! Stay a mile away from anything that is galvanized!!! 
If you heat it in your forge, its smoke will kill you. Seriously. I am not kidding.

Yeah... I already knew that galvanized stuff was bad and I knew that I was never planning on melting... or doing anything with it... but now... I’ll just make sure that I’ll never get anything galvanized.

You don't cast tableware! It is forged both in small shops and in large factories out of sheath metal It is perfectly safe to make and use.

I have no books to show unfortunately, I have learned everything from my own experience and the net. Some from other smiths sites, like Ariel Salaverria. He has loads of useful tutorials, I encourage you to check it out

Glad you like it! The little thing next to the knife is a stylized Thor's hammer, the Mjölnir. Vikings and other people from the north carried it around as an amulet, to please the god of thunder.
