Description
This is a shitty photo, but...my illustration for the Russian fairy tale "Fox Confessor", about a sly vixen who lures a rooster out of his tree by shaming him with his sins and asking him to confess to her and be saved. I wanted to illustrate the human component to the tale, along with the animals.This is pen and ink on top of watercolor, and little gouache.
And I was listening to Neko Case's album Fox Confessor Brings the Flood while I was making this, because that may be one of the best albums ever made and she's to die for.

An illustration very worthy of the song, it's just in the same style as Case's lyrics. Slightly nonsensical but at the same time true to the bone. Awesome job!
