Editorial illustration for a New Yorker article (for class)I have no idea what to put in the big empty space there on the left, it's really bothering me. (-_-;

I wanna know what the article was about? Is this like about New Orleans and how back in the day it was a novelty to sleep with black people.
If that's what it's about then your picture totally gave a good impression. If not, then I just make up stories to amuse myself using your pictures as my own little illustrations.

Yeah kind of?!!??! It was an article about a playwriter (Thomas Bradshaw) and his new play that's about these slaves being taken advantage of by their white masters and how the play was kind of like.. trying to be really politically correct but failing to see it's own stereotyping of black slavery or something urrrbbllggh really confusing article.

i agree with those two. it's way successful without anything in that space. it looks like the kind of thing the layout editor guy would throw some text on anyway, and that'd probably work too.

I agree, I don't think you need something there, really.. you've filled one "diagonal" so I think it's all good!!!

looks really neat! i actually like the simplicity of it. sometimes there's no need to fill all the empty spaces, you know? i think it works pretty well this way :3
