Description
While rummaging through my files, I found this tutorial I created for a member of the Daz3D forums. As it may be of use to Deviants, I decided to upload it here as well. It's about how you use the alpha channel of renders saved as a .tif in Daz|Studio
Next to using Daz|Studio, it assumes that you're using a version of Photoshop and have some knowledge of how to use it.
One last thing: you may upload or link it somewhere else, as long as you do these two things:
1: Credit me, through :dev hellwolve: (remove the space) or :icon hellwolve: (remove the space). Or, if you'll upload/link it outside DA, make clear it's been made by me on the page displaying it and link to my DA page.
2: Note or email me of your usage, with the URL of the location you'll be displaying it.

Getting back into this and was trying to remember how to get his done. While I knew ALL of the steps you show here, the one step you don't show isn't mentioned and it's VERY important:
If you are having a problem getting the alpha channel to save correctly, ending up with nothing in it, you likely aren't saving it right. If you save the image from the render editor it will NOT grab that transparency. You must File>Save Last Render>Save as Tif. Thankfully I finally figured this out before it drove me insane.

I don't mention it? I suggest you reread the first step It's true, I don't emphasize it much, but I literally say "render saved as a .tif"

Right, but how you saved that tif can be problematic. If you are used to going into the render editor and saving images you'll find that saving it as a tif will not get the alpha channel you're looking for.
Hey, thanks for posting this. I just wanted to add a part that I was particularly frustrated with.

I've outlined the exact method I've used - I find it puzzling how you remain adamant that I'm doing it in a way that you say doesn't work

I know that But, since I don't use Poser much, I've no idea what you should save your renders in. So, I just stated that this is for renders from D|S saved as a .tif
Anyways, thanks for the

As far as I can tell Both PNG and TIFF have Alpha Channels. PNG some times displays transucenies, where you can see stuff through the image.
