Hey guys! Here's something I've had alot of requests for for a long while. This is a step-by-step for the character rendering style I do in the pages of Sonic the Hedgehog and Sonic Universe every month! I've been meaning to put this together for ages and finally had a window thanks to the production schedule for the Sonic/Mega Man crossover.I hope this is useful or at least sheds some light on the process for ya'!
Also, I have a PSD of this lone panel with each of these steps separated onto its own layer. If someone can suggest a way to host that and link it here for download, I'd be happy to share that, too.

Yeah! Adobe decided to close activation servers on that and give the old thing out for free! All you have to do is make an Adobe ID and you can do it! Nobody cares about Adobe suggesting not to download it unless you bought it.

Oh, so archie create comics for other companies as well? Plus, do you know and excellent paint/color programs for iPad that are equivalent to photoshop? As of right now, I can only pencil color my artwork. I'd like to get into digital.

its a pleaser to meet one of the creators of sonic the comic since its my first comic i've ever read and picked up and getting into comics because of this and when i saw archie doing megaman comics i've started to buy comics on hand than reading them online. seeing this how it only takes three layers to do i'm just blown away

Sorry dude! I've never used Coral Painter before, so I have no idea where I would even begin. If you're ever inclined, I would check out Photoshop - very versatile and I use it in all of my professional work even outside of comics.
There's a lower end version called Photoshop Elements - which is actually what I started learning with when I was in high school. Not sure if it can work in CMYK but it's a great stepping stone to learning the tools and tricks of the program.
