Something I threw together as inspired me to make one. Go check out her character sheets! Go!Yes, I know it's freakin' HUGE! Deal with it.
I finally have a use for that background I made ages ago. lol.
I hope this can be of some use to you, I know I suck at being helpful, but I do try.
I'll upload something more colourful this weekend.

I can relate, trust me. All the digital stuff starts out as pencil sketches, so you can imagine how much paper I waste trying to get it right. I never chuck any of it away either, so all the dead end sketches just pile up.
Ahhh, such environment savers us artists are. Forget planting trees, I bet I could make one out of paper mache.

I also feel a bit influenced. Everybody's all digital these days and I feel like an outcast for liking traditional work more than digital work.

Pencilers are what make up the best side of the art, without them colourists have nothing to colour. The better the drawing, the better the final result.

Where was this when I was trying to learn how to draw him? (and other hedgies) XP I had to teach myself by using my comics and my action figure, since at the time there weren't really any 'how to draw' s of him. Oh well. I do some things differently (mainly, I use the simple oval-nose because when I tried to draw hedgies with the bean-nose it just looked weird) But it's still helpful to see what techniques others use to draw him. I never even thought about using guidelines for the slant of his eyes...all I really need is a semi-circle above where the nose eventually goes and I can usually eye-ball (no pun intended) it from there.

In my head! lolz XDD I taught myself too. 
Sometimes I put guidelines in for the eyes, sometimes I don't - it depends how expressive they're being with their eyes, but I thought I'd put them in this time, as it does help keep them symmetrical.
