Description
These are some example members from an elusive Namekian nomadic tribe I came up with. I’m going to call them, “Dark Namekians” for reasons. The one in the blue has a more bulky, standard Toriyama’s masculine figure and the one in…red/burgundy has a more slender and feminine figure. Also, I love their ridiculously baggy pants. <3

Although they share the same planet, these guys and the rest of their tribe members grew apart from the Namekian villagers you see in Toriyama’s work. They also have odd customs and behaviors. For example, they hunt and eat (even though they don’t need to), are veeeeery promiscuous, and are a pretty rowdy bunch. The other Namekians find them kind of repulsive for this. It also doesn’t help that they have a custom of mutilating themselves (Most of them have stubs for antennas because they somehow found a way to cut them off permanently. Some also damage their patches) and look different in general—I decided to give them pink patches instead of yellow (Yellow is Toriyama’s intended/legitimate color for Namekian patches) and longer fangs. They also have retractable claws. They have these because they and their ancestors have been using them to hunt and eat. (Natural selection)

*Note: You can think of the teeth and claws on the normal Namekians as vestigial structures—meaning that even though the normal Namekians don’t have much use for teeth and claws anymore since they can survive solely on water, their ancestors had these traits and thus, were passed down to them. (Like our tailbones derived from our primate ancestors)

Because of their unusual abilities and their cryptic lifestyle, Dark Namekians hold a mythical status to the other Namekians and are depicted often in folk tales and legends (their portrayals vary from being mischievous tricksters to malevolent demons). A lot about them are still shrouded in mystery. However, essentially every single Namekian has heard some of their music flowing across the air at one point in their life! Dark Namekians’ music has a large impact on the other Namekians’ culture. Although most Namekians distrust and often fear the nomadic tribe, they do recognize and appreciate their talent!

Oh, and despite their rambunctious and energetic personalities, these guys tend to keep to themselves and usually don’t mingle with the “normal” Namekians, although there are some exceptions.
