Description

It was a good thing Rune was paying attention to where he was going. The little colt he had stumbled upon was so pale that he might've stepped on it! The young boy's pale blue eyes peered up at the dark stallion, who lowered his head to the ground and nuzzled him softly.

"Hey little guy, where are your parents?" Rune mumbled softly, lifting his head and looking around. He couldn't spot any fresh tracks that weren't his own. His ears went askew in thought and he dropped his head to search for any lingering scents. Just as he started walking away from the colt to expand his search area, he heard the sound of snow flying out from the hooves of another horse. His heart sunk as he whipped around and spotted Caine charging at the colt, head low and ears flat to his neck.

Anger flared up in the fiery stallion and he scrambled to meet the black stallion before it was too late. He skidded to a halt over the young colt and reared up in anger, striking out at the air. Caine let out an indignant squeal and shook his head.

"Rune, move," He grumbled, pawing the ground and tearing up the snow under his hooves.

"What the fuck is wrong with you?" Rune spat back.

"Get away from that thing, it might have a disease," Caine hissed.

"He's not a 'thing', he's a child! He's probably lost. We need to return him to his parents," Caine shook his head and rolled his eyes at this.

"He's not lost, he's been abandoned. No mare will leave behind their foal unless there is wrong with it."

Rune shook his head and bared his teeth at Caine. "I'll take care of him then," Rune snapped, helping the little colt up to his hooves and ushering the wobbly boy away from the black stallion.

"Rune-" Caine called, but the dark chestnut stallion flattened his ears and ignored whatever he had to say.

Other Notes: I've had these lines sitting around for a few months. Wasn't pleased with them then, not pleased with them now. But, since this interaction is pretty vital to showing off some character traits and introducing Sirius, I finished it anyways. No main event rolls please!
