E.O.W. entry for Conceptart.orgPretty satisfied with this one. Took 6 hours (plus 5 for the revisions), no ref. All done in Photoshop 7.

The ‘Novgorod- 47’ Prototype testing facility is the most technology-advanced institution on Hyplochia. When the 12th Imperial War broke out in the year 2450, this facility proved to be one of the best testing grounds for the then infamous tactical combat droid ‘Seu’.
Currently, unmanned sentry drones are being tested since Novgorod-47 has fallen under control of ‘The Elders’.
edit: I just retouched this super old piece quite a bit because it was selected to be used as a front cover on a book title about how to paint Sci-Fi. ^^

I like the different areas of illumination, sunlight vs artificial light. it tells the a story about areas of the setting that you cant see.
floating spheres are reminiscent of things in the matrix but that doesn't hurt the subject just makes you think a little.
