E.O.W. entry for Conceptart.orgPretty satisfied with this one. Took 6 hours (plus 5 for the revisions), no ref. All done in Photoshop 7.

The ‘Novgorod- 47’ Prototype testing facility is the most technology-advanced institution on Hyplochia. When the 12th Imperial War broke out in the year 2450, this facility proved to be one of the best testing grounds for the then infamous tactical combat droid ‘Seu’.
Currently, unmanned sentry drones are being tested since Novgorod-47 has fallen under control of ‘The Elders’.
edit: I just retouched this super old piece quite a bit because it was selected to be used as a front cover on a book title about how to paint Sci-Fi. ^^

i have photoshop 7 too and i never even came close to anything this great.
i love the fact that this is a futuristic place cause i like anything futuristic and the awesome plane thing is an added bonus.

well, since the jet is entirely futuristic there wouldn't actually be any reference! With Sci-fi you invent everything yourself

That is a most spectacular piece of artwork. The fact you did it all in PS7 just heightens the awe I am held in. It looks like an intro scene for a video game. Maybe you should pitch it to Volition, Ravensoft (are they still around), or ..Ubisoft, perhaps? Either way, it is beyond belief.

Hard to believe you got all this detail done in 6 hours of Photoshop without using any 3D rendering software or pre-scanned hand-done work as a reference.. that's some awfully good perspective work!

(the gold sphere vehicles at the top right kind of remind me of the space ship in Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy movie)..
