The winged mage girl's eyes slowly opened. "Wughh..."

Ever since the first of May, Spring had kicked into high-gear in Adratea. Some of her customers had joked that the season had taken a vacation that year, and Summer had to work overtime to make up for it. It wasn't terribly funny the first time, and by the tenth time that week she was damned sick of hearing it. Although that may have just been the heat messing with her mood. Along with the hormones. And the trouble sleeping.

And the constant flailing of her unborn child.

Most of these things may have been connected.

Groggily, she snatched the rusty, barely used alarm clock off the nightstand in front of her. After a few moments of squinting really really hard, she was able to discern that it was four in the morning, and that it was incredibly not time to be awake.

Slowly, she rocked herself into a sitting position, her rounded midsection making things rather difficult. With an angry flick of her fingers the wall sconces came to life, and she looked down at the current cause of her strife.

BW felt her abdomen shifting and shaking, and watched as little bumps pushed against the sheer fabric of her slip. "Hey, cut it out, I was sleeping!" It had taken her so long, too. The freak heatwave was only adding to her intense discomfort lately.

Briefly, her child appeared to get the message, and her middle settled down. Satisfied, she cradled her belly with one hand, and gently rubbed with the other, an automatic gesture at odds with her annoyance.

Just then, another bump appeared, and seconds later she felt something shift against her internals, almost causing an embarrassing accident she really didn't want to deal with that night. "Oi," she barked, flustered, "watch the wings in there you little twerp!"

Nearby, Darren muttered what sounded like an apology and started lightly snoring again.

BW sighed. She was already wide awake again, and her baby wasn't calming down any, so she angrily got up and waddled across the room, ignoring the fact that her wings had knocked her boyfriend out of bed in the process. Looked like another sleepless night was in her immediate future.

Another kick, and she made a high-speed shuffle to the bathroom. "I cannot WAIT for you be out of me, kiddo."
