I'm sorry you're getting so many silly comments on this piece.....I think this looks awesome, great dynamic between Lita and Prime. I've always liked the idea that she was on equal standing with him, instead of his arm candy as she was kind of portrayed in G1.

This picture made my day! I can see there is some argument with the model of causeway and this, but that guy has got to screw off and get a life. He has no proof that you copied that design nor does it matter if you make Elita-one a prime. This is fan art! If we played by the rules where is the fun it that?
This is defiantly how I see Elita-one in Prime. This is awesome and if someone has something to say otherwise they can take it to court.

People might be bitching about the whole- only one prime thing, but I'm going to say meh to them because it's fanart and because in g1 cannon Elita was OPs equal/best friend/partner/ex partner type dealy and yeah so*shrug*
I like it, as for those OC stealing claims I have a bunch of OCs, if I drew them I'd be stealing from someone I'm sure. As is, she's not an OC, so an adaptation into Prime can take a lot of paths-hell Arcee wasn't blue until now and in the comics she use to be he

Definitely some good work there, though I do agree her design is a bit too much like Optimus' own. Even with a truck alt mode (which I agree with totally), a different, somewhat smaller, model, and transformation scheme (such as not having the windows as her chest) would probably work better.
And, yes, I agree she is pretty much a female "Prime", even her name is synonymous with Optimus' own. Both names roughly translate from Latin into "Best First", or, more accurately in Elita's case, "Chosen One", or "Best One".

I do like the design. People portray her as frail and delicate way too much. And I'm NOT trying to get involved in whatever the issue/argument is, but to me it doesn't seem like you copied anyone's character design, and I can see why you gave Elita a resemblance to Optimus.

No idea. It was a kids show when she was introduced so they probably didn't want to dive into that story too much. Since it was targeted for little boys.
I'm not well verse enough in the comics to know what happened to her.

Nice sketch, but there's some... issues...
1. It looks like you took my friend's OC Causeway (modified 1966 Autocar alt mode, aka Mini Pete Truck), made her waist disproportionately and unrealistically thin compared to the rest of her, and took Movie Ironhide's head and crossed it with G1 Elita-One's head to make this. Not cool taking someone else's character design without asking like that.
2. In the Aligned continuity (includes WfC, FoC, Exodus, Exiles, and Prime) there is only one Prime at any given time since the time of the Dynasty (the original 13 Primes) and Elita-One was never a Prime in any continuity and never will be a Prime. Sorry, just how it is, and it's canon.
3. After seeing the image of her on your tumbler, sorry to break it to you but no one can wield the Star Saber except Optimus Prime because he is literally the only living Prime, period. Again, established canon.
You might want to rethink this rather a bit...

1.I've never even heard of your friend, nor have I been surfing tf drawings on DA to have seen his design. Tf Prime is full of chracters with inhuman proprtions anyway.
2.You may have forgot, OC's and or Fan designs are NOT CANON. Its a drawing. Chill out.
3. The point was "what if there was a female prime?" She just started being called Elita.

1. It's kind of blatant when it looks like a bulked up masculine version of her character --> [link] and in a very similar pose from here --> [link]
2. Elita-One is not an OC and Elita-One is not and never will be a Prime as per Transformers canon dictated by Hasbro.
3. There is a femme Prime, her name is Solus Prime, blacksmith of the original 13 Primes created by Primus himself. ALL other Primes, from Prima to Optimus himself, have been masculine, period. Again, Hasbro dictated canon.
Breaking canon and taking the design of someone's OC to suit your whatever-you-want-to-call-it is actually rather rude.

1: I'm sorry... apparently you haven't been in the TF fandom very long. If we REALLY want to get picky, I'm sure enough I could find another bot that looks "similar" to anyone elses. Because guess what? In the end, they're robots. Just because it looks the same, doesn't mean its a copy nor referenced without being approached. I agree with the majority here- they do not look remotely alike for it to be a copy. If your friend was so concerned in the first place, she should be here, not you. Your making her look bad.
2: She's a canon? My god, I wasn't aware. Here, allow me to introduce to you this thing called FANDOM. Where canon is broken for non profit, ideas are expressed, and self-inserts are involved. If someone wants to create a universe that Elita does become a Prime, or that Orion Pax NEVER becomes a prime, woo-de-do. Good for them. It's not hurting anyone.
3: Forever and ago, there has always been 13 Primes, one female. Anyone whos been in the fandom / Transformer interest long enough, knows this. But hey, remember- FANDOM. It kinda ditactes that, non-profitly and for pure entertainment purposes, we can do whatever the hell we want, with whoever.
Read some fanfictions. View some actual artwork based off the series. Shipping isn't canon. Go comment on every single Optimus/Ratchet, Breakdown/Knockout, Sue/Stew, and everyone else if you have such a pin up your rear that you have to bicker on someones sketch.
Long story short: Chill out. You're making us look bad.

This design was going to be an original one until I started calling it Elita.

I was approached by Causeway's owner about it and she is not the only one who noticed it. It's rather difficult to believe you've "never seen her character" when the design you used is virtually identical, save for the head. As for the rest, try doing a little research. It would help you avoid confusion and issues in the future.

Like I had a chat with her, I'm having the chat with you now too: that is NOT a rip off of her character. It's NOTHING new that someone who wants to create "a mate/pair/sister of a same transistor!" for their favorite character creates a pretty much of a "clone lookalike", just opposite genderbender.
What has happened here, is exactly same. It doesn't matter if their alt-modes are exactly same. It's nothing new either, it's an idea beaten to death too already. The poses are generic, theme is generic, if some robot part happens to be the same, it doesn't mean it's a rip off of someone else's character. If that was the case, we'd all be pointing at fingers at each other for ripping of someone else.
My very first original character I created and my friend commented "He looks exactly like Sephiroth." and guess what I said? "Who's Sephiroth"? Later I saw an image of that guy and I immediately saw the resemblance.

It's NOT the truth and the art wise statements are not facts either. It's a matter of perspective how people see it. Shit, I drew her character, every line of the art, and in my goddamned opinion there's not much of a resemblance other than they're both PRIME style designs with Optimus influences. I have ignored canon dozens of times when it comes to art I like. And I've done it in my art several times too.
The thing is: The character does NOT look like a copy of Causeway. One resemblance that is the shoulder exhaust pipes, nothing else, and even that is not a new character design idea. I have discussed this with Bonita too.
And hon, I really don't appreciate it that you bring a private matter into a public discussion like this. A matter that is only between me and Bonita, which the two of us discussed through already and solved it and became to a mutual understanding of it. Next time something like this comes up, which I hope doesn't, just talk to me via Skype instead. Thanks.

Then, excuse me for barging in so suddenly, why isn't she the one putting this argument forward? I would think she'd be the first one to jump onto the situation, since it's 'apparently' a rip off of HER character.
Also, I think your argument is ridiculous. Yes, I do admit I see some similarities between them, but that is obviously due to the fact that BOTH their designs are based/influenced by the SAME CHARACTER. And, as everyone else has been saying, there's this little 'ole thing called FANDOM, you should check it out some time.
Otherwise, chill out. There's nothing wrong with what the artist has done. And he shouldn't have to worry about people criticizing his work when he's done nothing wrong in the first place.
