Description This is my method of drawing. It's not a joke.
There are spelling mistakes in the tutorial (there has to be)
Download, +fav if you find this useful

I woke up extra early today to make sure I had enough time to make this tutorial. So after much demand, here it is

Happy drawing!

Photoshop, I think. There is a blue strip on the toolbar screenshot with 'Ps' on it.

This style is wonderful. I love it. Though I don't think I could ever draw like this. There is perfectionist always whispering in my ear telling me I've doing it all wrong and that little voice would lead to my demise!

Though this is definitely a really nice way of looking at how to paint simply though. I might give it a try once I learn to shut up my inner voice.

Wow. I'm astounded at how you managed to turn that sketchy mish-mash into such a wonderful picture. Just goes to show how much I have yet to learn about art.

I'll have to remember a lot of these tips, although because my method of drawing is a weird hybrid of traditional style and digital style, not all of them are entirely applicable to me (that I can see).

At first I was like "You gotta be kidding me."

But then I realized that you know exactly what your doing, so I tip my hat to you.

My computer can't handle images that size in my art program... I must be the leading cause of kitten deaths recently...

And I love sketching... its... its what I do!

Guess I just suck...

~depressed~

Awesome tutorial, but not good for my personal morale...

nice. I'll give this a shot.

It kind of reminds me of how I color my scanned pencil drawings.
Thanks!

Thank you for sharing this process. I enjoyed reading it mind you, your english could do with improving I just kid .. English is not needed with such fantastic art. I like the reduction method - Adding and adding - layer upon layer is what most people think give them the upper hand -- This is epic - The least work with the most meaning is yours I will give it a go - soon as I can.!

The progression you describe here is fascinatingly like mine has evolved. I find myself using fewer and fewer tools, fewer and fewer layers (until I try a different style and fall right back on them!) Less and les.. everything.

Some of my best works have recently been drawn on a single layer, or two at most (only if I don't feel like finishing the background immediately, or want to keep in the lines for some reason.) I'd skip sketching almost completely and just sketch with my paintbrush. And you know, it paid off. I hate searching through a list of layers for the right one to paint on. If I'm absolutely not sure of something, I can paint on a second layer temporarily, but it always gets merged down. It gives me more freedom, though, and everything just blends together better, and you know what? My computer loves me for it. Layers are hard on RAM, you know!

So yeah, very interesting tutorial. You may be ahead of the game here. I like it!

TehAngelsCry In reply to hinoraito [2012-04-29 16:33:27 +0000 UTC]

It's still red on green XD Go for something more harmonic, such as white text, light green text, light yellow. Think of a colour wheel, and go for colours next to green.
