Description
Anne-Laure flew over the crowded streets. It was a wonderful feeling. The little fairy made loops, sharp turns and spins. Anne-Laure definitely enjoyed the gift Martha gave her. And if Martha had kept her word, Anne-Laure could always turn into a fairy for a while, whenever she was fed-up with her life. After a while, she decided to try out her second gift, the magic wand. Along the crowded streets, Anne-Laure found a young woman sitting alone on a park bench. The woman was talking into a cell phone. She was disguised as some kind of native woman from the south seas, but frankly, she was rather chubby and did look rather plain. Anne-Laure decided to eavesdrop a little bit.“I tell you he’s an asshole. He just used me to get to know Chantal. And now that she’s with him, he simply dropped me.” the girl complained.
Anne-Laure couldn’t hear the answer, but the woman soon continued to talk.
“Of course I’m finished with him. But that’s not my point. He proves what I’m always saying: that looks are the most important thing to get a man.” She was interrupted by the person on the other end of the line, but soon the woman spoke again: “That’s easy for you to say. You look really good and you have a boyfriend while I’m solo and don’t have looks. You beautiful girls have it much easier.” Again, there was a response, which was cut short again. “Cut it out. I’m tired of this useless discussion. I made my point!” Seemingly enraged, the woman hung up. She put her face into the palms of her hand and frowned.
Anne-Laure had heard enough. She decided to teach this girl a lesson. She waved her wand at the woman and imagined the desired changes. The woman instantly grew slimmer and developed a very sexy figure. Also her skin developed a nice tan and her facial features refined. Soon, she was a real exotic beauty. Anne-Laure hovered in front of her face. “What did you do to me?” the woman asked.
“You said that you have no boyfriend because of your looks. Now, you do not only look sexy, you are also irresistible to any man. Until next morning, you can find out if beauty will get you a boyfriend.” Anne-Laure explained and flew away. A few feet away, the first man had spotted the newly-made beauty and closed in...
A few streets away, Martha and Sami were walking through the crowd. Suddenly, a person disguised as a witch, wearing an old, frightening wooden mask jumped in front and scared them. Martha winced and clung to Sami. While the witch turned and disappeared into the crowd, Sami put his arm around Martha. Martha calmed down. “This is completely different from the Carnival in Brazil, where I’m from. Even the costumes are different. We don’t have these scary masks in Brazil.”
“I think I know what these masks mean.” Sami said. I saw them in the late Middle Ages. As I told you, the normal people mocked the authorities during the Feast of Fools. And witches especially freaked out the church. Also, I heard that these masks would scare away the spirits of winter so spring can finally arrive.”
Martha gave Sami a hug. “They are definitely scary. But with you here, I don’t feel scared anymore.”
Sami blushed. “It’s fun to go to town with you. We should do this more often.”
“I told you so. The human world has some very fun things to offer. You will enjoy it, I’m sure.” Martha repliesd Arm in arm, both genies wandered through the crowed.
Meanwhile, Anne-Laure has spotted another potential victim for her fairy magic. A couple was walking along the street. She was dressed up as a circus lion tamer with red tail coat, white trousers, black boots, black baton and a whip. The man was dressed up in a gorilla costume. Anne-Laure flew nearer but kept out of sight and listened.
“Ugh, ugh!” shouted the man and jumped around like being an ape. It wasn’t a very convincing presentation, Anne-Laure admitted to herself. Also the woman was not very happy about it. “Cut it, Marc. You’re not very convincing as an ape.”
“Ah, come on, Christine. Don’t you like when I’m a real animal?” Marc replied.
“Come on. You never are an animal, not even in bed.” The girl replied, sounding very disappointed. “I really wish you were more wild, from time to time.”
“Then I’ll show you how much of an animal I can be!” Marc started to ape around even more. This gave Anne-Laure an idea. She waved her wand at Marc. Instantly, his act became more realistic. Marc was really behaving like a gorilla now. Even grew more muscular.
Reluctantly, Christine stepped closes. Marc grunted, but allowed her. “Marc, are you ok?” Christine touched the cheek of Marc’s mask. It didn’t felt like a mask any more. Christine tried to remove the mask from Marc’s face. It didn’t bulge a bit. Instead, Marc gave a cry of pain. Christine stepped back. Marc rose to his full height and beat his fists on his chest. Seemingly frightened, Christine fell on her bottom and tried to crawl away. But Marc simply grabbed her and threw her over his shoulder and walked away.

How the $&@# did I find this story, just by searching up Anne Frank?

I think I know why: Most of the results are art about Anne Frank. But if you scroll down deep enough, devianart will also show pictures that are only a parcial hit. One result was for a catwoman-related piece of art, because Anne Hathaway played Catwoman in "Dark Knight rises".
And the Name of the fairy is Anne-Laure, so here, you have the partial hit.

And the word frank appears as part of "frankly". It's just a stupid coincidence.

Oh boy...looks Martha and Sami are gonna have to take a break from the festival to clean up Anne-Laure's mess
I'm pretty Sami will find some good qualities about humanity. My concern is however what would convince him.

It seems that Martha is embracing her genie nature more and more. I'm afraid that pretty soon, she won't care about mortals.

Not necessarily she wouldn't care about mortals anymore. She might see herself as a genie, but she would still like to participate in the human world. She rather sees herself as a foreign visitor to the human world but this doesn't mean she wouldn't care for humans. Not caring for humans would mean she retreats into her lamp and doesn't come out unless she's summoned.
Sami's more like that, though he can't really do anything about it. He's trapped inside his bottle, so he doesn't really care about what's going on outside. Why should he anyway?
But Martha can leave her lamp on a regular basis. She has a job in the human world and she has friends there. Actually, she's a very open personality and gets easily into contact with other people (a necessity for being a good receptionist). If she turns away completely from the human world, then most likely after a very traumatizing experience. Seein the cat girl devouring the transformed watchman freaked Martha out. More of these events might push her over the edge, but I don't see them comming at the moment.

I couldn't help but get jolted though, Sami doesn't seem to be a good example for Martha. That's what he's preaching and practicing, isn't it?
I look forward to seeing what you have in store for him.

That's where a lot of tension in my stories comes from: Sami is propably the most experienced teacher for Genie Magic Martha could get. On the other hand, and you are right her, isn't he the best teacher when it comes to genie-human relations. But this isn't an authoritarian relation between Martha and Sami as a regular teacher-student relation would be. Sami and Martha are pretty equal persons. Still, both can learn from each other. Sami can teach Martha how to use her magic and Martha can introduce Sami into the human world. Even Sami admits that humans have their good sides too. If Sami would have more chances to meet humans that are not exploiting masters, he might see them in a different way. Martha can surely help him with that.

That would be interesting. Every time Sami is mentioned I keep remembering the poor girl that got turned into earrings.

I told you that I have an idea about a story in which she might get turned back. Since this story needs an OC from a friend, I'll RP this story with him. The outcome of the RP will decide on what will happen with the girl. Is that ok for you?

I know, you told me. I'm not trying to get an answer, not right now anyway. I'm just saying what I think about Sami. Sorry if I got carried away.

No problem. On the other hand, there's the girl who was transformed into a palm by Martha. She's still around in the hotel but nobody seems to care. So, what's so special about the earrings?

She had her wish manipulated, and we have seen her family (her brother) missing her. The emotional connection is there.

So, if History would be changed in such a way that Max wouldn't remember her anymore, it would be more easy?

We'll see what will happen to Sheryl. Either she comes back or she'll stay Martha's earrings.

I look forward to seeing how it would be addressed.
On a different note, I hope to discuss a character I'm developing with you.
