Description
Just a little animation from the Hetalia: The Beautiful World first episode, when Italy shows off his tank (before this there was the M11/39, don't get me started about it), but it proves troublesome when firing...Related content

So what tank or tanks is Italy supposedly using here, and is there any truth to this, or is it just cartoon silliness?

This is the M13/40.
And yes, there is a bit of truth in this, even though here is exaggerated. The M13/40 had plenty of flaws when first deployed, and amongst them was the fact that, after each shot, the small turret tended to fill with gas from the gun barrel. So, in many cases (and also because from inside the turret they could see very little), Italian tank commanders just kept the hatches opened.

Well that bit about poor visibility is true for most tanks, especially from this era. Even the commanders of Tiger tanks usually had their hatches open, and their heads out to see what was going on.

If there is a Chinese tree, for the love of history you should have an Italian one, IMHO.

I agree, it isn't complete until Wargaming adds in the other Major Member nation of the Axis.

Well, it was true. Not that just these tanks were filled with some smoke when they fired; they just filled with too much smoke.

Somebody around here would not be of the same opinion.
But yes, I guess I get what you mean. They look more classic and less than metal slugs crawling around!
