Description
I know it's kind of spectacular. But why waste four shells if all you need is one? Especially since there is a Panzer IV still alive and kickin' around here...Related content

Because there is no kill like overkill. And missing the ballsy but sure kill shot deserves punishment. Β

I still cant fully understand howΒ Turtle teamΒ survive. I mean Panzer IV got his turret crushed by one shot from thay main tank. And 3 more shells on that light armor? Like i said i still dont understand...

And in fact, they didn't survive. Right after this scene, there is one where the white flag deploys.
But they did take the heat off Miho's back!Β Β

Ye i know thay tank was destoey but i dont understand how thay survive Inside of it. One shot from Churchill is enugh to kill every one inside.

They use safe shells and the tank hulls are reinforced. Remember, this is a martial art similar to kendou, where the goal is self-development, athleticism, and good form, not leaving blood and teeth on the practice floor. Β

As someone who has taken martial arts lessons & lost a front tooth to a "safe" rapier (not a foil, a rapier) in theatrical combat practice, I know all about reasonable safety. Sensha-dou is about as good as it gets, all things considering.

Okay. But i was on a few times on ASG matches and i got friend who was in planty of them. Its all about fun and if you look at some point you may see it similer to Martial arts (Its ofcourse if you play ASG to improve your self. So and this kinda cases) I saw with my eyes and from what my friend said ther ware cases that projectilse we ware shooting ware strong enough to penetrate human skin. So in order to take out that plastic bullet thay had to squze it out. My point is, no matter for what you take part in this sort of combat, if you play with high speed projectiles you are BOUND to do some damage to others. The closer you are the more damage you do. And i knowΒ physics good enough to know that shellls thay friring, at this range and with armor thay have (No matter how "Reinfoced" it is. Β Its still THIN ARMOR) Its bound to that this shell can kill them.Β
I wont gona buy that thay suddenly switched to "Weaker" shells. Becouse in order to switch THAT fast thay gotta get a machine to switch on fly those rounds. And thay dont have one.Β
So ye. One may think its martial arts with tanks but its impossible to not harm or KILL somebody.Β
So in the end, i just buy its "Anime Logic" Since ther is no other REAL LIFE explenation.

I hear you, and I readily agree that the "Rule of Cool" is in full force for GuP! That being said, the matches are meant to be tank-paintball with dojo tournament rules in terms of effect, so one should no more consider the actual historical gun performance any more than the actual historical engine performance. (My how those old panzers can race about! )Β The gun rounds (to my catgirl saving mind) are a form of "Safety HESH" material that will hit hard enough to register for damage scoring measurement, but will flatten and bounce without penetrating armor. Otherwise even an 88mm "rubber round" from a Schwartzwald Tiger could still actually penetrate and perma-wreck a light tank. The rounds still have enough kinetic force to break treads, toss light tanks about, kick up the turf in "shellburst" style, and make buttoning up a good choice. But as the anime points out, the crews are more in danger of drowning in a submerged tank than getting seriously injured by a hit.

Perhaps. But in one episode we DID saw how normal round fired from Panzer IV looks like. And its rather far to be as you say... More it reminds me of standart AP round. (Counting that thay DID show some shells before loading them)

By generalizing you mean commenting on a anime that draws its characters based on cultural stereotypes?

Yes, and for the record I don't like it, too.
Anyway, my intention herw as just commenting on the perceived excessivness of having four tanks firing point-blank onto another, especially when another enemy tank is right in their front.

Exactly. I personally dont like it since its in a way mocking all sides of the war by setting adolescent girls in the seats of tanks that have been used by some of the most decorated soldiers in history.Take my advice, stay away form Strike Witches.

I can't say we "enjoy" doing so. I may be British, but I don't support the actions during the Fire-bombing of Dresden and whatnot, but of course, many don't support it either.
