Description *An easy tutorial made by a lazy deviant XD
I found the old tutorial I've made somewhere else, so share it here then.

Q:Hey, it's very jelly-builded!!!You skip screens too much!I'm having trouble understanding!!
A:This is not really a "tutorial", it's just a progess about how I draw a CG
If you want professional ones, please search for the others XD, thank you.

Q:I have questions...can I ask you?
A: Sure. As long as I'm able to answer the question you're asking.

Oh well, maybe I'll make another one more understandable someday =3=,and thanks for read through this~ bye~

Actually, I think this technique is CS (Cell Shading) because you used brushes in the whole process. CG is Cell Gradient, that's because the gradient is the main tool.

Or I don't know. XD... I'm just a beginner..Maybe I'm wrong hehe XD

zuumik [2007-12-26 11:07:29 +0000 UTC]

Hello Hizuki, I like your tutorial
I would have a question. Do you know how to use the selwction funktion?
Example, Iยดm drawing a jacket, and I see that the pocket is in the wrong place and I want to move it, in the same layer, how do I move ti? I tryยดd the selection but after itยดs selected, it wont move no mather what I do....
Or when I want to copy a detail from another pic, it paste the detail into a new layer, but again Iยดm not able to move it to the right place and turn it in the right angle...
I would be REALLY thankfull if you could answer me....

thx zuumik

๐Ÿ‘: 0 โฉ: 1

hizuki24 In reply to zuumik [2008-01-03 05:30:09 +0000 UTC]

You can select it then copy+paste into a new layer
P.s doing this in Photoshop is easier
because PS can "freedom change"
I don't really know how to explain all of this

erm may i ask, i'm using photoshop currently [cz its more easier xD] and i still dun understand is er, bout the blurry shading, how do u make it become soft? izzit 1st time u use normal brush, then after tat erase it/blur it so it looks soft? or 1st time u hv use soft brush for it? i'm still confuse cz i've try the blur tool yet it still looks not as soft as i wanted >___<
thx for the tutorial~

๐Ÿ‘: 0 โฉ: 1

hizuki24 In reply to Hanabiiro [2007-12-21 07:03:13 +0000 UTC]

Both works, you can use normal then erase/blur or soft first then erase
why doesn't blur works?
try motion the pressure higher 0.0 I guess it's the pen pressure problem

๐Ÿ‘: 0 โฉ: 1

ppun In reply to ??? [2007-12-16 15:51:49 +0000 UTC]

I've got a question:

Can you do the same, with photoshop cs2? Can you have the same effects? If so how?

๐Ÿ‘: 0 โฉ: 1

hizuki24 In reply to ppun [2007-12-17 15:30:24 +0000 UTC]

The methods are actually same, but the effect aren't....because they have different brushes
color by OC--->[link]
color by PS--->[link]
clearly that the hair style came out different XD

๐Ÿ‘: 0 โฉ: 1

ppun In reply to hizuki24 [2007-12-17 21:48:21 +0000 UTC]

so instead of a pen you use a brush right?

thanks so much^^

MagicalSecret In reply to ??? [2007-12-12 18:20:45 +0000 UTC]

Wow, very useful but can you please explain how the clothes are done, do you just layer the colours or do you use things like the smuge tool, dodge tool, blur tool etc xD

Sorry for bothering you

๐Ÿ‘: 0 โฉ: 1

hizuki24 In reply to MagicalSecret [2007-12-13 05:02:37 +0000 UTC]

It's hard for me to describe=w=
1.Paint over with big brush then use the eraser to erase out some fine parts, smuge tool, dodge tool, blur tool ....yeah, you can use them too. But these tool in OC aren't as good as PS

Wow! I LOVE your gallery, style, everything!!! Plus you're awesome at writing people back. I just recently started colouring on the computer so reading your tutorial really helped! Just wanted to know if you had any tips for CG starters...? (I mainly use photoshop cs2 because my tablet = super cheap and the lines come out angular on open canvas...)

Sorry for the long msg...

๐Ÿ‘: 0 โฉ: 1

hizuki24 In reply to starr-dream [2007-12-13 05:00:21 +0000 UTC]

Tips for starters:
1.Patient
2.Do not give up
3.First you need to understand the usuage of the program you're using. You can try making a beautiful sky to learn about the lights and cloud filter or lens effect etc..

I prefer a better tablet if you often use it XD

๐Ÿ‘: 0 โฉ: 1

starr-dream In reply to hizuki24 [2007-12-13 15:51:45 +0000 UTC]

Ok, I will try to develop patience and experiment more with the program...but I easily get bored...haha. Thanks for your response!

May I ask for tips on the hair? How did you do those fine strands?

๐Ÿ‘: 0 โฉ: 1

hizuki24 In reply to Yami-no-Yuugi [2007-12-12 03:03:54 +0000 UTC]

By thin pens and small brushes
Not the big brushes of course^^"

Just like how you draw shades with copic pen or something.

๐Ÿ‘: 0 โฉ: 1

Yami-no-Yuugi In reply to hizuki24 [2007-12-12 13:56:54 +0000 UTC]

I don't know how to do that... Oh well, might as well try.
When you shaded (err, added the "shading" of the hair), you kept on changing brush size?
Thanks so much!

๐Ÿ‘: 0 โฉ: 1

hizuki24 In reply to Yami-no-Yuugi [2007-12-12 15:20:22 +0000 UTC]

EX: You use size10 do it rough but slight
Then use 5 in a deeper color over it
Last the final stripe it more in size 2
The size of your pens are from BIG > small
Sorry for the awful describe...>_>|||.....
