Description
More poking around in Mandelbulb. Used AmazingBox and _SphereFolding1. Would have made it bigger but it seems like the Depth of Field just locks up on bigger renders? Like it'll get 95% of the way there then just stop.Related content

Yup! It's a pretty powerful program. Some people's 3D fractals are just insane.Β

Nice work.
DOF and bigger renders... for instance: 3072 x 1728 px, DOF (sorted) 3 passes, Z1+Z2 same values (focus), DOF aperture 0.4 (= can be VERY SLOW, very strong blur), DOF aperture 0.04 (= faster), DOF aperture 0.004 (= much faster, less blur). If it's very slow, you can also try low ClippingR values. High aperture values, maybe far plane (high values), FOV with extreme depth can make it slow.

Cheers, and I'll look into those settings, thanks! (I was just sort of blindly fiddling with the buttons.)

Interesting. The effect reminds me of 'reflection in water' photos, and atmospheric perspective. Thank you for experimenting and sharing.
