While drawing Maelstrom I made this tutorial. XDSorry it isn't very detailed but Paint Tool SAI can only get as big as this. I would've added more info otherwise.
This is how I've been drawing lately, but the process will probably change soon since I like trying new stuff XD

YES, eyes are the biggest pain in the world to draw (except hands, and feet, and hair, and maybe bodies) and that's such a cool way to do them!
