Story
Hannah glanced around the indoor arena. Horses and handlers came and went in a bustle of activity. Officiants and veterinarians scurried from horse to horse, barking commands and scribbling furiously on their clip boards. Beside her, America stood equally alert, tied to the hitching rail on the outside of the ring. A few yards in front of them, a paint horse suddenly reared as its handler pulled desperately on the reins for control. "Looks like someone hasn't shown in hand before" Hannah murmured. The chestnut Morgan's nostrils flared as she eyed a Quarter Horse being walked behind her. "Horses numbered 200 through 210 please step into the arena!" "Ope! That's us!" Hannah said undoing the mares reins from the post.

Hannah and America rounded the corner of the entrance to the arena, and very quickly the owners of the horses in line behind them knew to stand back. The chestnut mare threw her head straight up and lifted her tail, kicking her legs out in a bouncy stride. "No no! This isnt a halter class you can stop doing that!" Hannah's pleas fell on deaf ears as the Morgan sprung energetically with each step, tail streaming like a banner behind her. "Ugh..." Hannah brought the mare to the far side of the ring, nearly at a full jog the whole time. Hannah sighed in relief as she settled the mare in to stop at their station, glancing over at the other competitors whose horses had ambled calmly to their spots.

"Hello dear, this is number 200 correct?" The veterinarian and assistant appeared next to them ready for the inspection. "Oh yes, I have my back patch here." The assistant began scribbling on her paperwork. "Morgan correct?" Hannah nodded. The veterinarian giggled and motioned to the mare. "Obviously!" Hannah turned in confusion to see America attempting to half posture as if she was in the Morgan Grand Nationals or something. "Oh geez she doesn't have an off switch I'm sorry..." "Shes fine, makes my inspection easier!" After a thorough look over the vet picked up each hoof and looked at her teeth before asking the pair to do a few trotting circles. "Here we go..." Right away the mare sprung into the air, bouncing with each step once more. Hannah jogged along to keep up, hands high in the air gripping the reins close to the bit as America jogged along. "Looks good to us dear, she passed!" She stopped the Morgan as best she could, watching as the energy seemed to ooze back out of her for a bit. "Not everything is a show you know" Hannah mumbled patting her neck. Americas eyes were still big and alert looking around the arena.
