Description
Poor little Gino...Working on cat shelters is not only cute. Here is an example for human cruelty: Gino was struck by a car and the driver drove on and let him on the street. There he was laying in pain. He had no change to survive, cause his legs were broken and he had wounds...
But he had a lot of luck: A nice human found him and brought him to the cat-aid-organisation and they brought him to the vet, paid for the expensive operations and spend the time for caring for him... It tooks about 3 weeks till he was able to walk again but he managed it
To the picture: It is not my best work, but I want to show the opposite of my cats! The "collar" around Ginos neck was necessary to prevent licking on his legs and wounds, cause that would lead to an infection and that would be VERY bad, so he had to learn to live with that thing till the danger is over...
All in all you can say that Gino becomes not to a cat with 8 lives but he is well, found a new home where he is loved

I hate it when people hurt and animal then refuse to help it...if it were a person being hit by a car, the driver would likely stop and help it. But when it's an animal they think it's okay to just leave it there...how wrong.
Anyway, it's an unfortunate accident but it's nice to know he got better and found a home.

aww, poor little one. He's such a sweet looking cat. People piss me off when they do shit that that to animals. They should at least have the decensy to stop and help the little guy.

aww... poor Gino. thank goodness there was some one kind enough to help him. my cousin did the same thing with a dog he found in the road. poor dog wouldn't have had a chance without him.
i favorite this because it is nice to know there are still kind hearted people out there.

My kitty lost all sense of balance when she had one of those collars on - poor Gino, at least there was a happy ending!
Great shot!

Yeah, that seems to be normal, Gino had problems, too! I thought about how I would feel with such a huge collar and I think he did it much better as I could ever do

Such a pretty cat! I always get sad when I read stories about cats being hit by cars, because mine was hit dead.
I'm glad Gino survived.
I found this picture among someone's favorites and because it's so cute, I wanted to check it out. Before having read the story, I thought it was a photo of a bride cat (I thought the thing around it's neck was some kind of veil..) And I thought the title referred to a cat before a wedding..

good to hear everything worked out well for Gino as he is such a cutie. When i was younger i wanted to be a vet and in high school i did work experience in a vet clinic and i just couldn't do it as people are just too cruel

Thanks for your caring comment I think being a vet is VERY hard, especially emotional, so I can understand completely if people say that this job is too hard! Our vet has often tears in his eyes when there is nothing he can do for a suffering creature...

poor Gino! I am glad that he found a home. I can't understand human nature, really. Last december my sister and I rescued a baby cat that had a bad fractured leg, we spent tons of money in surgeries and found a home for him. But the poor thing, as Gino, should have never had to go through any of that suffering if the people that was supposed to care for them did it in the first place.
I'm glad to see that there is still people that cares. Thanks for recording things like that too.
