So, I saw *Zombiesmile 's "Fantard Meme" awhile back and just had to do it, because Lordy Lou I've gotten some weird comparisons in my time on DA. Let's look at the Evidence, shall we?
Dr. Ryan > Faust VIII (Shaman King) So, they both mad doctors with sleep deprivation who LOOOOVE their women. I admit Faust VIII was an inspiration when I first created my Singing Surgeon, but when you really get right down to it, Ryan and Faust here are too different to really compare. For example, Faust VIII had skeletons (revived through Necromancy) and his ol' lady do his dirty work for him, while Dr. Ryan would much rather do all his own fighting. Ryan likes getting down and dirty.
Noctem Aeturnus > Gremlins (Gremlins) I guess being photosensitive and having crinkly ears makes him a Gremlin, huh? I will say this though: Once Noctem and Monique are married, Noctem will be able to eat after midnight ALL HE WANTS...but isn't it ALWAYS after midnight anyway? For the record, he was inspired by Blix from the movie Legend
The Dead Queen > Morrigan Aensland (DarkStalkers) So, having wings on your head makes you a succubus from a popular fighting game franchise? I guess that would apply to every other avatar over on GaiaOnline too, amiright?
Misery > Storm (X-Men) I can see the similarites here, but it was purely unintentional. I swear, because of so many people pointing out the similarities, I'ma NOW have to redesign the outfit Misery's had for over 10 YEARS and give her her old wings back.

I'v had one so far.It was a Robo Cop ref and we all thought it was hilarious.I didin't mind it one bit then again thats the only time it's happened to me.

Oh lord that is pretty funny.
I still get them, but not as badly as before thankfully. One of the funniest ones I've seen though was where another artist had her turquoise-haired mohawked MALE assassin (hwo's fairly manly and is missing a few fingers on each hand) compared to Vocaloid Miku.

Personally I can't really see the storm thing either, but meh. A full body pic with her re-added wings and possible gargoyle feets should take care of that.

2- Don't know, I don't see big similarities 'tween Noctem and Gremlins...
3-The only similarity is the head with wings, but for all the rest... I think they are so different!
4-Ok, I can see the similarities too, on white hair and eyes. I believe when you say it's not intentional! There are so many characters in the world and people always find similarities! Some people find similarities between my OCs and other characters that I really don't know...=_='

Yeah I know what you mean. SteelRose (in my Genesis of Next picture) got compared to many things and Vaysh-Ra got compared to many things too. It's annoying. --;

Comparing Noctem Aeturnus with a gremlin is kinda ridiculous to me XD Neither do I see any similarities from your characters compared to the other mentioned....well the wings on the head of the dead Queen maybe, but the rest...nah

Well, being ladies with head wings are the only things DQ and Morrigan have in common, but its still annoying to have it pointed out to me all the time. Same goes for the other character pictured. ^.^;

I can see where people would get storm. The other ones I don't see as much. People tend to put what they want to into your pictures and you can't stop them. I don't see why you'd give your character wings again because she looks like someone. That'd be changing your personal look for something to suit other's. Seems kinda pointless to me.

Acxtually, she had had wings since I was in the 7th grade. I'd have removed them for reasons I can't even remember and I plan to re-add them, albeit some upgrades. I'm not doing it to 'Suit Others'. I'm doing to suit me.

Man, I remember a time when you could log into DA and there were no trolls present. Hell, I remember when seeing a "!" next to someone's username was REALLY hard to come by. >.>;
Well, DQ's wing-a-lings really are attached to her head, but yeah...it's still an annoying comment to get.
I love Gremlins myself. I swear if people keeping calling him a Gremlin I'm going the old WWII route and I'm gonna drawing a chibi version of him flying an airplane.

I see how "pretty lady with wings on her head" might make them go "that reminds me of..." but other than that, I really see no resemblance with either of these!

I wasn't aware that Storm had dead-ish skin, or pointy ears, or had ties to Gothic folklore. Oh, that's right, she doesn't.
As for the other ones, i don't see close enough similarities at all. And i find limp wings attached to the skull-or any form of flying limbs attached to the skull for that matter-absolutely ridiculous to begin with. Just sayin.

lolz. Actually DQ does use her head-wings, but mostly for steering when she's in flight (via her actually back wings, which I rarely draw on her). I mean I had to come up with a logical reason why she has those. It may look ridiculous, but you had to admit it's at least kind of cool-looking as well.
Exactly, and for the record, if they want to compare Ryan and faust VIII because of stitched, they might well as throw Doctor Frank N. Stein and Black Jack in there for comparison too. --;
