Description
A Golden Eagle on watch for any movement below. Golden Eagles are a sight to behold. Huge birds that can bring down even small deer. They are the Apex of their food chain. Feathers replacing scales in these dinosaurs of the skies. Raptors are frightening creatures if you could only imagine them at a slightly larger scale. They could easily take down a man ... Even the Golden Eagles of today could if they really so wished. I wouldn't want to mistakenly end up near an eagle's nest if they were around.Ahhhh I've had several requests asking if I had a reference for this. I found the eagle after searching a while ... See > [link] The branch is from a photo as well, but has been modified alot to appear more fitting for the drawing.

*stares at the wings* O-m-g O.O Never seen one live but I definitely believe seeing a creature like this flying is like a dream come true to ANY person! No matter you into birds or not, it´s the size that stunns the viewer!

Очень понравилось. Из-за графики создается прием серости и небольшая размытость фона так же прекрасно смотрит. Птица неподражаема. Она так и светится духом свободы. выразительные хищные глаза...

Actually, Mongolians of the steppe still train female golden eagles to hunt wolves, sable, deer and other animals. They tend to attck by grabbing the neck or back and squeezing and crushing the bones there.
Imagine someone doing that to you.

Ummm .... I'd rather not imagine ... In fact at our zoo I was allowed to put on a keeper's thick leather glove and allowed to have a golden eagle perched on my forearm ... I wasn't prepared for how hard the grip felt through the glove. So it wasn't hard to imagine sharpened talons doing severe damage when coming down full force and clamping like steel traps with sharpened blades at the end of them onto unsuspecting flesh.

Actually my dear I work rather quickly ... I cannot remember offhand but I'd say that one took maybe around 12 hours to complete.
