Please bear in mind that these characters spring from my imagination of what they should look like. So they may or may not look like their film counterparts.

Well, it can be anything you want really, but when I first drew it ( quite some time ago, shhh) I set to draw as many characters of the Order together in one big overlapping scene. If you look close, you can just about see Bill's shoulder on the right
But your question has just now sparked my shippery heart. little red riding hood...hmmmm.

I very much agree with your facial choices: Snape and Lupin's actors in the movies are absolutely perfect and you seem to have used them as inspiration here, but Hermione and Ginny's actors are sooooo not what the characters should look like and you don't seem to have used them here.

Well, I've drawn Hermione for such a long time, and at a certain point the character just takes on a form of its own, I guess. I'm working on part three now ( slowly), which has Tonks and Kingsley( amongst others). Again, not the movie actors, but I hope you'll be able to tell its them.

Oy, even though I love the entire cast of the Harry Potter films (except for Michael Gambon) I prefer it when people do NOT use them as an inspiration for fanart. So don't apologize

I shudder at Gambon's depiction of Dumbledore. But this may be personal. I thought he was so over the top, especially in GoF. So when I get to Dumbles, he'll probably be more reminiscent of Harris.

Yeah, I used to hate his guts until I saw him in other movies (like Sleepy Hollow) and I realized he's not that bad of an actor after all. He's just HORRIBLY miscast
Or else he got terrible scripts and stage directions
The ONLY other character I think they seriously messed up was Sybill Trelawney. Emma Thompson just overdid it >_<
But considering there's 8 movies and only two casting complaints, I think the casters for the series deserve an award
(I could complain that Gary Oldman is too ugly to be Sirius, but that's personal preference XD)

I don't usually comment on peoples works *one of those horrible silent watchers* but i really liked the picture and style you have taken with this. Especially as its not the conventional movie style, everyone whose read Harry Potter has a different picture of the characters and i think its sad so many just go by what the movies have produced, but yours are a really different interpretation, very refreshing!
Out of all the characters i really like how you have created Snape, maybe its just me but it feels like you've conveyed his whole character, that sullen, on the outskirts good bad guy, with a bit of mystery and longing about him.
As i said i don't usually write comments (I'm a watcher not an artist) so not sure if what i have said makes any sense...

Whew! Thanks for taking the time to reply! I often say that comments are the only currency an "artist" gets paid in, so I really appreciate you taking the time to give me a review.
I try to draw them as close as I envision them, but in Snape's case, a fair bit of Rickman managed to sneak in anyway ( he does have a wonderful face). And it's funny that Lupin is canon! film here, my mental Lupin looks a fair lot like Sting actually

I still think your version of Snape puts a lot more feelings into the face even if a bit of Rickman snuck in (His face is brilliant!). I never thought of Lupin like sting.... OMG YOUR RIGHT THOUGH!! HAHAHAHA
