"Just trying to recreate street-art sensibilities with an extant photo of a burnt-out shed." No, I think the assemblage is more than that. I think most of the assemblages, all the successful ones, are greater that the sum of their parts. Wintermute turned out to have a way of collecting items from the free falling slow motion blizzard of detritus swirling around inside its derelict satellite, once inhabited by members of the plutocracy, and placing them not at random but not with any readily understood scheme, into boxes which somehow found their way back down to earth, if only in the form of photographic images. Critics found these poignant and deeply affecting.
