His normal walk speed has a long acceleration to it, allowing you to aim in all different directions. However, when you double tap to dash, Buster rockets off at top speed but cannot shoot.

whoa, really cool! Since Buster doesn't have a lot of motion about him because of his perfect balance and all... (really cool concept by the way) this means you have to show large amounts of very well-done motion on the parts that DO move, and you've done a great job with that here ^ _ ^ The only thing I can see that I would've done differently is the foot trail, I would've made a big flashy spark effect behind the foot. However, if it's more subtlety you're going for, and/or if you didn't want too much friction between the foot and ground, then the current trail works perfectly.
Oh, and he's not going directly from his standing pose to this without any breakdown frames, is he? That'd be a bit of a snappy movement.

I am definitely considering the spark effect behind the foot, but I won't really know until we get Buster in the game and I can see how that line works, including along slopes which may be a pain.
Originally Buster's run was going to be like a speed skater. Unfortunately since he can aim while running, this would require a ton of extra frames with the leg/hip motions and honestly that type of movement looks really weird without the sweeping arms. Also I just recently realized Shadow the Hedgehog does EXACTLY that, so it's all for the best.
Since the dash is instant, he goes right into this animation, but it's accompanied with a small shockwave, similar to Sonic Rush. He can actually transition FROM his run into aiming in which he skids and kicks up dust. He also has a sort of ground exhaust burst move that he can use to cancel all momentum and hop back a bit. (it also launches enemies)

Sounds really awesome, a ranged character could certainly use a launch attack like that. XD
Semi off-topic question, but do you have any idea on a price for this game yet? I'm gonna go ahead and assume it's not f2p with all the work you're putting into it

Everyone has at least 1 launch attack, though some have stronger aerial combos than others.
I'm looking at $20 right now but we'll see. I feel like it's worth more, but that seems to be the price of quality platformers.
