Description Eh. There's things I can add, there's things I can change, and I want to redo the decals... It worked for last night, and it's still a great cosplay piece. I added more rust than the original. I wanted some rust-weathering practice.

The whole thing i perfect, but ill be honest, the screen is strange looking, maybe you could use acrylic sheeting or something? and print out paper with black and green scan lines? put some led lights behind it?

Thanks! The screen is a hot mess of problematic things. I made this for a costume party and had issues with casting a smooth CRT style screen. I had a good piece of polystyrene sanded for the mold and I thought I had sealed it with latex paint but it wasn't. I can't remember what I put on it, either glazing putty or primer, but anything with acetone eats through foam, and the screen area got all pitted . So once I cast the resin piece and saw that the screen was all lumpy, I tried to fill it in with various things. But again, if you put 6 layers of clearcoat down to smooth out the surface and then spray another color over it, the acetone in the second can liquifies the paint/clearcoat applied from the first can so I ended up with a soupy goopy mess of colors. So I tried to clean that up, and hand paint the screen, and that didn't work because there was still residue left over from the rattle can paint, and there were brush strokes, and I didn't like how that turned out so I tried to clean all that off. I think the green on this is nail polish. I can't even remember how many types of paint I put on, but it was a mess trying to get it right 3 hours before the party.

There isn't a lot of room behind the "screen" area for LCD screens or phones AND your forearm, and I have beefy forearms. I wanted to make a version 2 with a longer shroud for smartphones, but then you have to scale the whole Pipboy longer (I own one specially designed for iPhones and it's too small for my arm) and then it takes up 80% of my forearm.

I might go back and redo things to just make it with the CRT style 4:3 screen made from crystal clear pressure cast resin, but I'm probably not going to put 100+ hours into scratch building a completely new Pipboy since Bethesda is done with Skryim and FALLOUT FOUR has been announced.
