GASP! RUBIN IS DRINKING WINE! I swear he's not underage...

Pretty much he's the son of an aristocrat (hence the clothing). In the picture, his father's having a big aristocrat get together, party, fiesta, drunken orgy... lolwut?

SOOOOOO..... I may have taken the 'Shining Carter' thing too literally. Because now, Carter (the small dude) is literally shining. Why is he small? Because if he was big, then he couldn't be spit out. Silly.

As for the coloring, I wanted to experiment with gradients. I think I'll use them more often, they're fun!
