Even though I can't stand the cold and snow annoys me, I like doing winter-y pictures!
I wanted to do a piece to commemorate and thank people for 50 fans on Manga Magazine, then by the time I finished this I was up to 60! I am shocked and amazed and I'm so thankful. I know this isn't a whole lot, but I hope it's sufficient!
That said, I'm pretty happy with it. All those nice concept art pieces from Frozen on Tumblr have made me want to do something snowy. Not that they get a lot of snow in the villages--Red Leaf in particular is one of the farthest villages south, so it's usually fairly warm there, and it only gets a bit chilly in winter. But when they see snow it's very exciting!

Stumbled on this on Manga Magazine, but I like DA. Love the story so far. Sorry to ask but how do you build fans on Manga Magazine? Also, what do you look/read to get clothing designs?

Thank you! Um, honestly I have no idea. I started posting it there and advertised it everywhere I could (here, Tumblr, Twitter), and then at some point it popped up on the main page of MM and people started following it. I wish I had a better answer, sorry! I don't really understand that site very well.
Um, I've been slowly assembling a reference folder for ideas for a little less than a year now, but generally speaking I look at fashion blogs on Tumblr, and I follow concept artists. Some of my favorites are Matt Rhodes' tumblr page , PSDO and the accompanying Costume Community Service blog (VERY good for costume design advice), and these nice fashion blogs . Otherwise I just find stuff I like from around the internet and save it to a folder, per some advice I got from a concept artist once. Means you can flip through the folder and get inspiration! I hope that helps.
