it's Magneto.again, my design philosophy on this show was to always start a the characters original, or most significant look from the comics and go from there.
i believe i did that with Magneto, and he looks pretty sharp because of it.
hail to the king......King Kirby that is.
colors done by my partner in crime....Kimbers Bitsui. with some adjustments done afterward on this particular image by myself.

Something I've always wondered, why does his cape float away from his shoulders? I noticed it did that even if he wasn't flying or anything.

thats because i was trying to evoke a lot of classic Marvel styling from the 60's. take a look at Kirby's stuff back then....all most all his capes had this dramatic flair!

would love to see more of your wolverine and the xmen character art. like wolvie, cyclops, xavier, iceman and beast.

that's classic Marvel for you....Kirby and Buscema! they drew capes like this. it always gave their characters a larger than life appeal. i wanted that same feel so i stole it from them

I also liked how Tom Kane impersonated Ian McKeller when he was voicing him in the series.

I looooooove Wolverine and the X-Men animated series -- very epic series -- and I hope we get a second season! The cliffhanger made my jaw drop. I have to say that I really love Magento in this series. Yes, he does look fantastically sharp in the series; I adore the Nazi-esque feel the series gave him and the Roman emperor look with the high-rise cape.

i'm really glad you love the series, a lot of talented people put their sweat into this project and it's always great to hear from fans like you who really appreciated our efforts.
i'm also glad to hear that you like my Magneto design. he does sort of have a Roman quality about him , doesn't he?.....but that high rise cape idea....at least my reason for doing it.....goes back to classic Marvel artists like Kirby and Buscema.....they did that to a lot of characters who had capes and a larger than life presence.
that was my take to design on all the characters on the series....was to touch on the classic version of each one as a starting point on design.
sadly, i'm hate to tell you that there will be no second season to Wolverine and the X-men....but, there will always be a X-men animated series out there....you just have to wait

What? Nooooooooooooooooo! (curls into fetal position of doom) It's not true! Say, it's not true! Rest in peace, second season... But—but Apocalypse was coming! Arghhhh! Wolverine and the X-Men is the only thing I watch on Nickelodeon; it's the only GOOD thing on that channel! I'm completely heartbroken now... 
Yes, he does have a "Hail Caesar!" quality about him. Kirby and Buscema, from what I remember, had his cape puff from the sides, this is more vertical. It does give him a "larger than life" presence, but I also saw it as a "too big for my breeches" because his cape was about his high as his head, which I liked!
Thanks for everyone for the great work. Now I have to tell the people I showed the series to that there's no continuation. Sadness.

unfortunately it is true.
i did the drawing for the DVD cover art for Vol 3-6, so i know it's all out on DVD. and i've been told that there will be a collectors box set....but things change so cross your fingers.
u also did some development for the second season, so i know it would've been " age of apocalypse". i'll post those designs up some time in the future.

The problem about buying individual DVDs for $15 each, when I can just buy the whole set for $40. So I'll cross my fingers for a box set.
I'd love to see the season season development! Can't wait to see those.
