Celebrating both my 1000th view of my page, and my 100th Post to Deviant Art, I wanted to give a shout out to everyone who dug my last Batman Beyond pic and take another stab at it. This time with a different sort of family...In the 31st century, New Gotham seems to be under attack by a group of 'New Villians', calling themselves such names as Mr. Freeze, Two-Face, Bane, and perhaps most vicious, The Joker. During the 21st Century, Gotham was always defended by a hero calling himself 'The Batman'. Only problem is, there hasn't been a Batman for hundreds of years.
So, like they did with Superman, the Legion go back in time to bring Batman into the future. Ony problem is, they end up bringing back Batman Beyond. Now, without Bruce Wayne to act as his guide, Terry McGinnis must join the Legion until New Gotham can be saved from the shadows it has fallen into.
There, he will meet an unexpected rival in Superman X, a schoolgirl crush from Phantom Girl, a best friend in Lightning Lad, and a word of adventure that will change his perspective on what it takes to be a hero forever.

"Well, even though I'm not nearly as badass or threatening or smart as the original, I know kung fu and have an enormous amount of gadgets that have pretty much turned me into Superman-Lite!"

I did like Batman Beyond, and I DO like Terry McGinnis, but let's face it. With all the gadgets in his suit and with his less broody demeanor, he resembles Batman about as much as he does Superman. He's more like a fine mix between the two.
ESPECIALLY with the jet boots.

It took a while for me too, but I can look at Batman Beyond and actually call him 'Batman'. He earned the title as soon as he beat the stuffing out of Joker.

You really should do this as a story. I would really like to see that rivalry with Superman X and that romance with Phantom Girl you mentioned.
Also, if this is a Legion story, might I reccomend you have Lightning Lord, Saturn Queen, and Cosmic King as the villains? Just a thought.

In the whole "Batman Beyond Season 4" storyline, I intend on having Terry meet the Legion one more time, so these are certainly ideas I can touch upon. ^_^

That we know of. In the Legion of SuperHeroes in thew 31st Century comic book, various heroes ended up making apperances, like Impulse (Flash), Martain Manhunter, and Green Lantern.
Someone in the 31st Century must have pointy ears.

This is good, but if you want it to reflect season two there would be three minor changes: 1) As you said Saturn Girl is in a coma and Lighting Lad wanted to be like Wolverine and end the perps exsistance. 2) The white hair of triplicate girl was lost in 4000 by one of those red bubbles. 3) Lighting Lad's metallic upgrade.
I think it best that they didn't get the original namely because in a day's time he would know all of their weaknesses. There is one other question is this teenage Terry or the one from Epilouge?

Honestly, Im not quite sure yet. I kinda figure that if they were going to bring in another character that's equal to the original's power, they might as well have brought in Mon-El or maybe a Supergirl. Heck, he could have even been Conner Kent, DC Comic's Superboy. However, I can't say that I love the character, but as far as clones go, I've seen worse.

Well as far as i can figure i think they wanted to put more of an edge on old Supes! Im not a big superman fan but i do like this guy! I almost compare it to batman beyond (great freakin cartoon) like giving supes a harder powers and personality to deal with a harder villians and situations! And im catching these episodes late so im playing catchchup but im gonna give it a chance and see how it does! It would be ground breaking and bad ass if they did your idea!

I feel the same way. However, to me, it seems a little pointless to have the original Superman if they are going to have a Superman X. Im sure he's a great character, but having the original around kinda waters the effect down.

Heh. That would be awesome. If Superman X is somehow corrupted by Impierex (or whatever his name was) and betrayed the Legion, leading Superman to have to take him down.
On a related note, thinking about it, my only real issue with the current cartoon is Saturn Girl's coma. I know that they needed a Legionaire to be MIA to show how tough the baddie is, but why her? She was one of my favorite characters.

Yeah, it was in part two of the two parter season premiere (which I think shall re-air tomarrow morning). But it sucks not having her around anymore. Though I am still assuming she will come back during the Season Finale.

I hear that, but they did make mention to him at one point. Superman said "In my time, I have a teammate that reminds me of you. Kinda a loner..." I think he meant Batman.
