Description "Justice Society of America"

During World War II, they stood together as the world's first superhero team. Together, Wonder Woman, Green Lantern, The Flash, Hawkman, Atom Smasher, Phantom Girl, Captain Mid-Nite, Red Tornado, Hawkman, Wildcat, and the Sandman defended truth, justice, and the American Way before any League could.

Now, generations later, a new heroine named Power Girl (more on her later) has unearthed a coded message from a much older, much wiser Super-Man, telling her all about the 'Society'.

In an effort to put the pieces together and unlock the mystery of not only her past, but the Society's past, Power Girl has formed her own team to create a new Society, be it bringing in the children of former Society members (Jade, Phantom Girl, The Sandman), people who have taken over the mantle of the long lost heroes (Barry Allen "The Flash", Mr. Terrific, Doctor Midnite, The Atom, Cyclone) or heroes who, through sheer luck, were members of the team themselves (Hawkman and Wildcat).

Together, the Society looks to protect our future by celebrating its past.

I just love your Justice Society lineup (with the exception of The Atom who has always been a JL member).

The only thing I don't understand is how come Flash is both a member of the JL and the JS. And you did a little mistake by naming Phantom Lady as "Phantom Girl", Phantom Girl is actually a member of the Legion of Superheroes.

The Atom is a member of the Society here, The Flash in the Society is Barry Allen (not Wally), and honestly, I just like the name Phantom Girl better.

Remember: this is MY reboot. Just because something is standard continuity in the regular DCU doesn't mean its established in the reboot.

I'm just saying that it's confusing to use "Phantom Girl" instead of "Phantom Lady" when "Phantom Girl" generally refers to another character, especially for someone who doesn't know the characters.

Sorry about Barry, I kind of forgot that he was still alive in your reboot.

About The Atom, or rather the different heroes named "Atom", Al Pratt the original "Atom" is rather small in size, yes, but his powers are radically different from those of "The Atom" (Ray Palmer). The real heir of Al Pratt's legacy is actually his foster son Albert Rothstein who renamed himself "Atom Smasher". Al Pratt and Ray Palmer have actually no connection or link whatsoever and only met a scarce few times during JLA/JSA team-ups.

Back to what I was saying before about finding the right place for a hero, to me, Atom joining this version of the Society then his joining this version of the League. Atom would much rather hang out and fight besides friends then a team made up of mostly people he has never fought beside before.

I'm just used to the fact that Palmer has been a member of the JLA since its early days (back in the late 80s, early 90s) and has fought beside them quite a lot. Hawkman (who has worked with both the JSA and the JLA) has always been his best friend, but Ray has also been good friends with Barry, John Stewart, Ralph & Sue, Clark, J'onn, Diana, Zatanna and he's one of the few who gets along well with Bruce.

Well... Power-Girl's nails are disturbingly long, but otherwise I quite like this group.

I have to admit-- that from my inbox-- THIS is just incredibly amazing, hun!

I really do enjoy looking at your group images. The colors-- everyone's poses.. EVERYTHING is just fabulous.

I totally love how you've drawn Powergirl's face. It's got this.. cute but tough look to her.

very nicely done!

First off, you have Hawkman TWICE in the "During World War II" paragraph, and it's Phantom Lady, not Phantom Girl, plus Doctor Mid-Nite, not Captain.

Second, why Barry and Ray Palmer if they're already in the New 52? And why Ray as the Atom?

Hyperkid37 In reply to Picassamia [2011-12-16 03:21:59 +0000 UTC]

First off, my bad. But frankly, this is MY 52, so if I feel the need to call her Phantom Girl or Captain Mid-Nite, that's how I roll.

And Second, Im assuming that you haven't seen the 18 other New 52 designs that I have made, so you would be somewhat out of the loop, which is no problem.

See, I hate the New 52. I'm talking blind, stinking hatred for it. So, as a means of raging out at 'The Man', I'm in the process of making my own 52 as to what I would do if I were in charge of the New 52, so there are specific decisions I have made, such as making the Atom and Barry Allen as part of the JSA.

But fear not: if you're intested in what Ryan Choi is up to, please feel free to check out my WildCATs design.

Cheers.

Easy there, I wasn't trying to Cowell-critique you. I understand completely. While I don't blindly hate the New 52, I merely dislike it, and have been coming up with a little "alternative" I call DC2 (like Marvel had with MC2). Here's the full thing:

Oh no, I totally welcome your critique. I hope I didn't come off as too harsh. Totally not my intention. I suppose that I am just somewhat used to people judging my work based on specific status-quo and what's come before it as opposed to the work itself.

A few years ago, I did a series of sketches in which I took Superman and had him replace Captain America in the Marvel universe. The final sketch was a pic of supes flying with the rest of the Marvel U. One user actually felt the need to point out that Superman is a DC character and I made a mistake by putting him with Marvel heroes.

But, even then, I take critiques all in good fun.
