Description
Lex Luthor is dead.Kal-El, the last survivor of the planet Krypton, has been taken over by the Kryptonian super computer known as Brainiac.
Brainiac, collecting enough data on Earth, has informed the world that it is time for Earth to face it's final resting place: the parallel universe dubbed "The Phantom Zone".
Now, the fate of the world lies in the hands of Captain America, who after discovering a Fortress of Sollitude, now posseses a glowing piece of meteor rock known as Kryptonite, the only substance on earth that can harm Kal's steel like body. Captain America knows the truth: to save the world, he must be forced to kill this superman.
But he also knows that he cannot do it alone...
He calls out an all-points bulletin to every costumed avenger possible. The Justice League of America. The Teen Titans. The Outsiders. Even his old friends from the JSA. The time comes for Brainiac to open the portal to the Phantom Zone, unleashing several dozen Phantoms onto Earth.
The time for the final battle has begun...
Captain America, Batman, and Wonder Woman go straight for the source to battle Brianiac, as Captain America now weilds a formed ring by Batman made out of Kryptonite. As much as they battle, they still cannot get close enough to use the ring. Brainiac is just far too fast, and far too powerful. In a shocking move, Brainiac actually picks up Batman and snaps his spine in half, leaving the League to look on in horror. The portal gets even larger. All seems lost...
Then the miracle occurs.
With a bolt of lightning, the mythic Captain Marvel finally arrives, proving to be quite the equal to Kal's body, buying Captain America and Wonder Woman the time to get Batman to safety. However, despite his sever injury, Batman tells Cap and Diana to return to the battle, leading to Wonder Woman almost pulling Cap away from his fallen friend. Just then, Captain America does what he does best...leads. As Captain Marvel is finally down, at the mercy of Brainiac, Cap and Diana begin a two on one assault that at long lost causes Kal's body to shed blood.
With Brainiac finally down, Cap orders Diana to wrap Brainiac in the Lasso of Truth, followed by Cap taking the ring to Kal's forehead. The remaining heroes finally begin to force the Phantoms back into the portal to the Phantom Zone as the Lasso and Kryptonite finally forces Brainiac from Kal's body, causing Brainiac's bodyless spirit to return to the Phantom Zone. With the help of the Green Lantern, the portal is finally closed as the Earth is saved. Captain America has saved the world...
SIX MONTHS LATER...
The League continues to be the world's greatest team under the co-leaders of Captain America and his fiance', Wonder Woman. Together, they continue to protect earth from any crisis that may come it's way.
Captain Marvel has joined the golden age team the JSA where he, as Billy Baston, is amazed at the stories of the Green Lantern and Flash about Captain America during World War II. The mind of a child still worships Cap as an idol. He knows he always will.
Bruce Wayne, now retired as Batman, continues his workout to recover from his spinal injury and one day return as the Dark Knight. His body has healed in an incredible time limit, already learning how to walk again. The rage of Gotham still being infested by crime gives him more and more hope to heal himself.
Lex Luthor still goes down in history books as a fallen hero, as Cap and company still lack the evidence to prove Luthor responsible for Brainiac's release in the first place.
As for Kal, with his employer dead and the world viewing him as a threat, he returns to his Fortress of Solittude where he is forced to begin his life anew. There he discovers the crystals that tell him the truth about his past. About his parents. About Krypton. About his whole world. But in the Fortress, he also discovers two surprising guests: Captain America and Wonder Woman. They know that Kal is a good person, and they offer him a chance to join the Justice League. A chance to make up his past sins, and to become a better person. It takes some deep thought, but Kal finally accepts their offer. He joins the JLA as one of their most powerful members...
...a warrior for Truth, Justice, and the American way.
The Justice League now costists of Captain America, Wonder Woman, Green Lantern, The Flash, Martain Manhunter, Green Arrow, Aquaman, Hawkgirl, the Atom, and their newest member...
...Superman.
THE END.
lol. I know, sick right? Well, I did write it about 5 years ago, so whatever will be will be. And I know, kinda ripped off The Nail and Knightfall, but whatever. It was fun. lol.
*blink!*

Wait, why is Cpt. America here? He's Marvel, and the others are DC!

Yeah that's sorta the idea. lol. Its a storyline where Captain America replaces Superman in the DCU.
Currently, Im working on a sequel (of sorts) in which Superman replaces Cap in the Marvel Universe.
Superman: Sentinel of Liberty - Coming Soon.

I like to get all the drawings done before I post the entire storyline (just to avoid any delay I may run into) and I just finished the first sketch. But Im getting to work on the next few sketches ASAP, and as soon as they are done, I'll post the storyline along with them. ^_^

A few times, actually. The only problem is that I need to find the perfect way to not only bring Kal El into the Marvel U, but find a way to have it cancel out the Creation of Captain America (or maybe another hero).

That's the idea of the cover and the series: its a world without Superman, but a world with Captain America, so he is absent from the cover.

Wooooooooow.
That's looking sooo cool with everyone moving in like that.
Lol, -finds it kinda funny that everyone is rampaging forward, while Martian Manhunter is just standing there- I guess he didn't get the memo. :-p
Anyways, yet another masterpiece, really digging this one.
And the way Wing is swooping in, just looks awesome.

Thanks, but Manhunter is coming. He's hovering just as Captain Marvel is doing.
