Reboot Idea #30"Action Comics (featuring Lex Luthor)"
He was the hero of Metropolis. The Man of Tomorrow. The man who singlehandedly saved the city financially, and breathed new life into a once dying economy.
Then the superheroes returned, and Lex Luthor suddenly replaced as the idol to Metropolis. Now, the world would see a Super-Man as their personal hero, and in another world, it would be the driving force to drive a multi-billionaire mad and turn him against that very hero.
Of course, THAT isn't this world.
In this world, Lex Luthor chooses to stand side-by-side with the heroes, not demanding the love and admiration that he once had, but instead, chooses to earn it back, and show the world what one man can do.
With a high-powered super-suit built upon designs by John Henry Irons (we'll get to him later), Lex stands as an armored hero for a nation that needs him...
...that nation simply doesn't know it yet.

I like this idea. I'm definitely open to the idea of him being a hero, since I've seen it done well before. This is a pretty interesting take on the character. I'm not expecting an answer to this question but, who be the supporting cast? Luthor's recurring allies, enemies, friends, and family in this reboot? I'm not expecting an answer, just curious. Anyway, great idea. I really like your version of the DC universe.

Wow I like this reboot idea of Lex being a hero who's not bound by a mask and wishes to stand by earth heroes to remind the world one doesn't have to be superhuman or hide behind a mask to show their heroism!

Thanks. I thought "mad scientist" and "billionaire mongul" was played out. Tried something new.

Interesting...
I can't say I'm particularly fond of this idea. I just always figured that Lex Luthor's motivation in life was greed and personal gain. He has a strong thirst for power that can only be quenched (barely) if people bow down to him (or at least praise him; I'd almost go as far as saying that Lex is an attention whore). And all of this he justifies by saying that his goal is to further the progress of mankind.
Making him into a hero is just like... creating a new character and giving him the same name.
On another note, why name this comic book "Action Comics"? Why not another name like "Metropolis" or "The Man of Tomorrow"? I don't mind that your "Action Comics" is not centered on Super-Man for once (like DC have done ), but I always thought it should have been a sort of crossover comic book with different "Action" heroes teaming up ("Detective Comics" would be the crossover book of "Detectives" instead of being yet another Batman title, if I had my say). Oh well, that's just an opinion.

Mmm Lex...
I looove this image...! He looks so... Lex-like but.. NOT.. it's different and very neat all at the same time! I do love my Luthor evil, but a heroic Luthor? OOOh yes. I can get into that.
I do adore this concept as well! It's different! Very nicely!

Like the "Legion" pic, this one was really thought up thanks to Smallville. A armored Michael Rosenbaum out saving the world?
Yeah. I can dig it.
