Oh my god. you people realize that the artist doesn't get to choose what get's a DD. i still have no clue what so ever of why this was chosen as a DD so stop discussing it here. if you dont like it. tell the proper people you can find it here FAQ #873: What do I do when I disapprove of a Daily Deviation feature?
and as for "lumping cutting and suicide together", what can i say... i'm sorry. i'm not going to change it now, and at the time it was what was going through my mind.
for the people who are saying stuff about how cutting can be good. well. i wont lie, my best friend used to cut. she did it to relieve stress. but from my personal standpoint, i know it isn't healthy, and it is something i am very glad i never did.
and if i was refering to assisted suicide i would have put that so please stop using that as an argument as well. i was talking about self suicide. like slitting your wrists or hanging yourself and so on.
any other haters out there... well i'm sorry you feel that way i am not here to change your feelings however.

Do you have anything better to do than cyberbully? Everyone's entitled to their own opinion. I'm not saying this comment in a sarcastic way- but honestly. I know the person who made this stamp, and ever since that stupid DD they have been getting countless comments like this insulting, calling him a liar, etc. Not to go all Chris Crocker, but he is a human being and has his own opinion.

Hmmmm I don't support suicide, I find it selfish & not worth it.Even though I've had slight suicidal thoughts when feeling depressed and lonely, I realised that if I was to do it would be a selfish thing to do, that there are people out there who care for me. If anything serious was to happen to me they would be devestated, even if my thoughts at the time are "ah they wouldn't care about me", it'd bound to break some hearts. Live life to the fullest is what surrounds my mind now.
But if the person truly feels they need to end their life by suicide...then so be it.
Sadly suicide can't be stopped, although it can sometimes, but not always. Upsetting really, least they will be in peace from whatever troubled them to commit suicide in the first place. Just my two cents.

any pain will do that, for the record. any feeling of pain will 'wake someone up' as in bumping up against something hot, etc. this is a natural physical reaction so a person can avoid injury and deal with threat. if there's a perceived threat to the body the system mobilizes to deal with it, releasing adrenaline and other chemicals which sharpens and focuses the mind. this is a natural reaction in every living thing as far as I know. people do make use of this to snap out of dissociative states, as was mentioned, or because it becomes habitual. there are other ways to achieve the same physical effect though.

In my experiance, ppl who cut believe that they have 'control' over that pain.
They feel like they are useless and have no comtrol over the pain that they feel everyday. So in order to, in their mind, obtain sum balance, they believe that cuttin is a pain that they can control, they have the seat of power for once.
Either that or replacing emotional pain that they can't handle with physical pain that they can.
