Turn the brightness up all the way and zoom in as much as you can, that's how I do it. I got started by raging pictures out of comic books. I promise all it takes is practice

That's a good way to start. The important thing to do is get your hand used to drawing the proportions. Don't worry about using all of the paper, either. Use as much or as little as you need. And remember: just because you see a mistake doesn't mean everyone else will. I made a mistake and no one seems to have noticed.
