I'm thrilled to show you my Evil Queen Regina costume from Once Upon a Time! I love Regina; she's undoubtedly villainous, but she has a soft side that comes out periodically, a yearning to do good for redemption and for her beloved son Henry, quite possibly the only person living in the world whom she truly loves.
A week before Halloween this year, my fiancee and I decided that we would be Disney villains! This was very exciting, since I had wanted to dress as Regina and she had wanted to cosplay as Cruella De Vil for years and we finally accomplished it in one of our favorite places to celebrate, Salem, MA! Because of the time squeeze, this costume is mostly purchased and assembled, aside from the collar and wig. (I did have the fun experience of constructing her Cruella coat, handling cuddly faux dalmatian fur. ) It feels strange to wear a costume that I didn't make from scratch! I very much enjoy the clothing construction process; it helps me get in tune with the character and excited to finally wear the finished work, but this process was relaxed for me.
This shoot took place at a beautiful Zen garden in Salem, right in the center of the cobblestone city streets. The leaves had turned to their stunning Autumn hues and suited the brick architecture splendidly. I personally love fluid motion photography, so I directed *GingerAnneLondon to take these photos. She did beautiful work!

(I) am the model for this costume. I made the collar and styled the wig. The gown is by JS Collections and the cloak was made by *GingerAnneLondon 's wonderful grandmother
