Hey! Guess what I discovered when I was screencap hunting! Our beloved Thunderdrum has legs! [link] Right behind its mouth and directly below the second pair of wings! You may need to squint a bit to see them (because photobucket resizes images :C ), but they're there! 8DAhem, moving onto my picture.
Yes, I drew up my interpretation of the Thunderdrum dragon we briefly see in the mighty Dragon Manual. Finally x)
So, behold, a bizarre Monkfish/frog/dragon thing c:
"This reclusive dragon inhabits seacaves and dark tidepools. When startled, the Thunderdrum produces a concussive sound that can kill a man at close range. It also has very sharp spikes. Keep your distance."

I probably wont, as these we're done a long time ago, before both the Book of Dragons short and the TVseries came out. I did these because we didn't know anything about these dragons besides their picture in the first move, and I got inspired c:

I don't know why, but I alwys imagined the Thunderdrum as an ove-sized Crocodile with "gills" on the side of his neck that acted as vents for when he was about to unleash his attack. He's suck in air, growing larger as he did so, a would then let an immense roar erupt from his gullet....

Ha! Legs! I had never seen those before.... but now I do! Ahaha! I'm so glad you pointed those out!
Oh my gosh the views from above and looking straight at it from the front really give me a sense of its creepy bulbous eyes.
*switches to nerd-mode* Hm! So do you suppose when the Thunderdrum is young, its legs are proportionally larger, and that they just don't grow as fast as the rest of its body? Er, I guess that'd kind of be like an inverted tadpole thaaaaat makes no sense.
*looks back at picture* *lol* That poor little Viking's head just pops right off....
*cough* Hm, maybe the other way around, and it starts out with underdeveloped legs, all tadpole-esque, and then it fills out later in life, like a frog. Because it does look kinda froglike!
Hm, but how big do you suppose they can grow?

Oh, good! You managed to see them in that tiny picture! xD My original cap is almost three times as large, so I'm a little mad at photobucket right now >:/
I still don't think I managed to make it creepy enough, though
Heh, I see that I may have made its legs a little bit larger than they really were xD But that's because I want the poor dragon to have somewhat usable legs x) Soooo, I'm gonna go with the underdeveloped-legs-that-fill-out-later-theory
Oh, and by the way, here's a picture of it from one of the 'behind the scenes' features, of it with its mouth closed [link] The legs are a little more visible there c:
Well, if we assume that the drawing in the Manual is that of a fully grown adult, then they are around the same size as the one in the "scale" picture, since I was looking at one of the illustrations where a viking gets his head blown off by the dragon as a size reference
