It was years until I understood the original 'Fractal Flame Algorithm' paper that comes with Apo! I have some definitions of terms that might be of help [link]

I just finished playing with the base form and would like to offer a suggestion. Page 4.5 -5 applies to the params you supplied, which is what I will call a 4-1-3 model. The diagram on page 2 is for a 3-1-3 model. The sentence starting with "This is an example only..." should make it clear that it also does not apply *exactly* to the supplied params since there is an additional transform involved.
The labels container/framework didn't convey anything to me but having the params - visual aid - cleared that up.
Thanks so much for revising and expanding the description for this technique - it finally makes sense!

I ought to update my glossary... [link]

GraphicLia In reply to IDeviant [2011-10-15 13:00:35 +0000 UTC]

Yup, the glossary - one of the first things of yours I dove into when I started Apo. Should be required reading. Going back to it I noticed "container" isn't listed - is that what you intend to update?
Platinus' LTS [link] helped me "Focus" consciously on the effects of variations/plugins. I read his article and then your tutorial back to back and a light came on and I had a semi-solid association for the word "container". *before I was in free association mode. Container = bucket, box, jar...*

BTW - I'm having a blast with this and have a couple that follow the model and six that take liberties uploaded to date. This is a rich construct. Thanks so much!

Yes, 'container' is a term I often use [link] - it should definitely go in!

Thank you for this!!! I often sort of forget how to use xaos properly, and I have to learn it again everytime I make something more complex (not just the usual "add linked xform", which is the best I can do without going mad ) This will be very useful
